04/10/2008 13:24 | I did see mention elsewhere that the combined total could be as high as 1TCF.Until they get more info and firm up the numbers it's probably best not to read too much into that.If I can find the source of that 1TCF figure again I will post it. | ![]() sg31
04/10/2008 11:06 | KBC note released today:- KBC note published yesterday. EnCore Oil (EO) East Breagh gas discovery EST: Up, REC: CORPORATE# EnCore and its partners have completed drilling of the well 42/13-4 on the East Breagh prospect and report the discovery of 72 feet of net gas pay. It is inferred from the well data that this may be part of the same accumulation tested in 2007 at a location 4km northwest of the current well. The earlier well flowed at a rate of 17 mmcf/d of gas. There will now be a flow test on 42/13-4 which will take approximately two weeks. Meanwhile, the critical well on the Esmond (potential) gas storage field is progressing and should provide a result within a week. The combined East and West Breagh fields appear to have potential of between 200 and 500 BCF. EnCore's 15% interest would have a net present value of between £40m and £110m (14-36p/share). Other companies involved in Breagh are Faroe Petroleum (10%, market cap £124m), Sterling Resources (not Sterling Energy - SLG.CN, 45% market cap C$145m) and Stratic Energy (10%, market cap £62m). This is an important result for each of these companies especially Sterling which has fallen by 66% in the past three months, presumably needing funding. If encores 15% of Breagh is worth £40 to £110m then Stratics 10% will be worth £26 to £67m. Stratics current market cap, according to the note, is £62m though Sharecast gives it as £67.5m @24.75p per share. With the director buying here 18-Sep-08 Buy Mark Bisland 21.77p 500,000 £108,842.13 18-Sep-08 Buy Kevin Watts 20.21p 250,000 £50,533.84 17-Sep-08 Buy John van der Welle 24.00p 192,765 £46,263.60 Graham Hearne Purchase 1 126,000 CAD$0.45 1,056,555 surely they have to be worth a flutter? | ![]() ammons

02/9/2008 10:55 | Stratic readies for key UK wellsPublished 28.08.2008 16:23:32 by John Bradbury Canadian-based North Sea explorer Stratic Energy has said it will move forward soon on two key UK wells which could lead to new developments. Detailed design is underway for an appraisal well on the Central North Sea Cairngorm discovery with the 16/2-5 drilling operation which is due to get underway in late November. A drilling slot has been secured on the Byford Dolphin semi-submersible drilling unit for the Cairngorm appraisal, and a number of testing options are being considered for the find, Stratic has said. Stratic operates Cairngorm in blocks 16/2b and 3d, with 50% equity. Meanwhile planning is underway with operator Nippon Oil in quadrant 15 for another well on the previous Bowmore gas and condensate discovery which is due to be hit with the drill bit again in early 2009. Stratic, which has 30% of the find, said Nippon is progressing with plans to drill a Bowmore appraisal well which will seek to test a deeper condensate and water contact area, along with a down-dip thicker sand section, "...Which, if proven, would significantly increase the existing level of discovered resource," said Stratic. | steelwatch

28/8/2008 20:24 | you tell me! LOL on my monitor but in today's fear-filled risk averse climate it seems ALL oilers and commod's are tossed to one side irrespective of inherent value. Not an oil person myself but the sector will turn, when? the LSE SE. is very illiquid though so i would be inclined to buy on TSE. watch and wait for me here, chart is dire though and volume is also dire in london so its not gonna reverse anytime soon if yer gonna buy it then TSE is best bet good luck | bach is dead
