29/11/2008 18:56 | Looks to me like sea tiger is returning from a rig.I don't have charts of that area at home but it would be interesting to plot the reciprocal of the current course 225/232 degrees and see if it passes the drill site. | ![]() sg31
28/11/2008 18:04 | sg - had this before on other rig moves. Sometimes they seem to adopt stealth mode! | steelwatch
28/11/2008 17:55 | I wan't sure if they had another job to go too and would come back to Byford Dolphin after or if we would get different tugs.AIS is great for ships which are moving but they are not shown if they don't move for a bit.Thats why I think it would have updated if it had moved. My boat systems can pick up AIS but it's all a bit new to me.Like you I tend to use it for tracking rigs.I'm no expert tho. | ![]() sg31
28/11/2008 17:49 | Apart from Dea Server, all the AIS is 5 days old, during which time I am fairly confident that the sea state improved enough. | steelwatch
28/11/2008 17:46 | Dea Server Look at the list for: Havila Saturn Skandi Møgster and Sea Tiger | steelwatch
28/11/2008 17:43 | sg - I think so. The three tugs are contracted to other rig moves over the weekend and Dea server is moored in Fraserburg. I'll post the links in a sec. Hold on. | steelwatch
28/11/2008 17:07 | Has it moved yet cos AIS hasn't updated since the 22nd | ![]() sg31
28/11/2008 16:14 | sg - moving the rig and anchoring was the problem. Once done, the rig is designed to cope with the sort of wave heights you might expect for that location. | steelwatch
28/11/2008 16:10 | Wind speeds for 29/11/08 look OK but inreasing wind on 30/11/08 up to 35kts | ![]() sg31

27/11/2008 20:05 | Dea Server - moored in Fraserburgh today The rest of the flotilla has not reported now for 4 days, but the 3 tugs are provisionally back in ABZ 29/11 for other commitments. | steelwatch
25/11/2008 09:49 | Sea state seems to be easing a little. | steelwatch
25/11/2008 09:38 | Looks as though this is suffering from Oilexco fall-out like many other small oilers with plays in the N.Sea like AEY, SQZ, ELP etc. I suppose the worry is the on-going costs set against a falling oil price and lines of credit drying up. Look at HAWK this morning. They have had to raise at 20p against a share price of 36p, absolute disgrace. Some institutions that have funds must be rubbing their hands scrooge like. | ![]() soulsauce
25/11/2008 09:28 | FQS - West Don all in costs $28 pbo according to the webcast. | steelwatch
25/11/2008 09:06 | good grief, this gets worse.... usually my investments take months to dive, this one has lost me about 60% in about a month.... I still beleive this will come good, it needs a recovery in oil prices though (hopefully before Don comes on stream!!) | ![]() failedqs
23/11/2008 10:38 | Fingers crossed - no AIS traffic since yesterday, and a weather window seems to have opened. | steelwatch
22/11/2008 10:32 | Continuing bad weather may delay Byford Dolphin tow out imo. | steelwatch
21/11/2008 02:34 | Northern Producer sets up at Don By Upstream staff Operator Petrofac announced the arrival of the semi-submersible production platform, the Northern Producer, on location to the Don development area in the North Sea.
