24/8/2014 16:20 | SNR changed its registered address to that of LCB where its relationship is now very good. | eelbuoy
24/8/2014 15:56 | Strategic Natural Resources (SNRP) says that a new management team is in place and it intends to gain a quotation on a recognised stock exchange. - SNRP - Today, 3:55 PM | liam wilson
24/8/2014 10:24 | I am only interested in the what the company is saying . The last RNS was the most informative that has been released for quite sometime . The framework has been put down lets see if the statements come true , the previous regimes had many troubles but one of which was being truthful and realistic ie , continuing production at a small profit then closing the mine . There has still been complete compliance at the mine supported by the DMR , so it would be reasonable to assume that provided finance becomes available , the correct team in place at the mine , tweaking and sourcing the correct mining equipment , logistic chain sorted , customer for the coal then it is game on . Also I think it would be fair to assume that now the offices are shared by LCB then there would be some form of future between the two companies . Signs of life still quite apparent . | eelbuoy
24/8/2014 08:04 | I would be interested in wanderlusts comments regarding this (maybe he is waiting to be invited as he stated). Though not always welcome his take on things has been pretty accurate and he has been through this before. | coalfired
23/8/2014 18:40 | Highlander47 From the RNS - This should answer your question Appointment of New and Additional Board Members The Company is very clear in the direction it is taking and is very aware of the need to strengthen the board and management for SNR and Elitheni. These roles will be populated with personnel who have the relevant background for a company in SNR's sector(s) and a company of SNR's size, growth potential and relevant stock market(s) when re-listed. These same principles apply to Elitheni with the Company putting in place the right people to do the right job for SNR and its shareholders, as well as satisfying the needs in the South African community as highlighted above. This will of course reflect BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) requirements too. In regards to management, it has been very clear in the past that the geographical remoteness between the board in London and the management in Elitheni has not always served the Company well. The directors of SNR intend that this situation will not re-occur and that rules, processes, reports and measures will be put in place, combined with physical visits on a more frequent basis if necessary to ensure that the mine is running efficiently and on-plan. Elitheni cannot find itself in the mess that transpired in late 2012 and 2013 and the Company will do everything it can to ensure there are no repeats of the same and that Elitheni is run effectively and profitably | investingisatrickygame
23/8/2014 18:00 | Highlander look at it this way, they can't be any Worcester than the last lot who f---d the company up good and proper and shafted the Pi at the same time. Have a good weekend mate I know I will. | 1private
23/8/2014 17:43 | Who are they?.... now? | substp
23/8/2014 16:32 | Does anyone have any confidence in the current BoD and do they actually have the relevant experience | highlander47
23/8/2014 15:55 | SA should have had the IPPs sorted a couple of years ago but the ANC couldn't and still haven't got its act together..... Plenty of time to get the mine right if they get a minemouth IPP....I think the IPP will have to be up and running by 2018? | substp
23/8/2014 06:06 | I think for the moment because of the prices, the IPP is the only goal. Eeelbuoy, the amount of talk I put into the IPP over the years and most didn't want to know. In fact many here were too interested in what was suppose to be that high profit pay off from the exports. The Gov of SA is definately another major problem over the years that need to share the blame for this companies debacle...... Doesn't $10 a ton profit sound good now?.......No heroes here...... | substp
22/8/2014 22:06 | The IPP was always the ultimate goal . A thermal supply contract with Eskom would suffice right now . | eelbuoy
22/8/2014 07:44 | I would imagine as soon as the SA Gov. announces its decision on the coal baseload IPPs you'll hear something..... | substp
22/8/2014 07:04 | Interesting, our new registered address is the same as London commodity brokers! 9 Savoy st London..... | gc321
22/8/2014 06:52 | I wouldn't be surprised if some names from the past come out of the closet.... | substp
21/8/2014 21:07 | As an approximate 600k (shares) shareholder, this is a very interesting turn of events, especially considering everyone had written this off! I had spoken to Gavin last week, who didnt give anything away at the time but did indicate there would be news in due course. We still have an asset and for some here who are actually invested we still own a percentage of that asset. Gavin has a 2 million (shares) shareholding at an average of 20 odd pence a share, so has a vested interest in getting this back on its feet. He sounded very determined to do that and by the sounds of it had he not intervened when he did, we would be looking at a company that was being wound up. He also felt that we should try and diversify to make us a more attractive investment. The millenium deal was an attempt at just that. I think we can be encouraged by this today and hopefully before any re-listing takes place we will see sufficient news to shore up the share price and hopefully encourage new investment into this share. I would like to thank Gavin for his efforts to date and look forward to further news on an actual investor(s), plans to reopen the mine, an actual grant, creditor situation resolved etc etc GLA and all IMHO | gc321
21/8/2014 19:27 | Wow....that all sounds too good to be true! A well written report....I too have written this off, but.....you never know! I suppose the new danger is that new investors will want to make it worthwhile them investing and therefore us current shareholders will get shafted...but, as I have already written the damn thing off......! Gla | warmsun
21/8/2014 19:06 | What a great report. The first time I have felt happy about my investment here in a long time. The future looks brighter. | fracman2
21/8/2014 18:29 | That was a very reassuring read and it has been a long time coming, I only hope they keep us informed of all developments from now on as I will not feel totally comfortable till they have resisted, like most I had written of my investment and it was a bitter pill to swallow as I had only bought them three hours before they got suspended, not my best days work, Hopefully it will all turn out well, it was not easy telling her indoors that I may have just lost 15k on a stupid punt,GLA. | 1private
21/8/2014 14:16 | And again one has to wonder.... | substp
21/8/2014 14:11 | All they have to do is rebuild the companies credibilty...... and that will have to be done with action.... | substp
21/8/2014 14:08 | Some on this bulletin board seem intent on vilifying SNR and members of the Board of Directors. Today's RNS should encourage you to put that attitude to bed. The Company now has a new board and new board members will evidently be added. The current board cannot be responsible for the actions of any of any previous incumbents. What I like about today's RNS is that is provides plenty of reasons to be hopeful about the future. Very clearly, the Company is working hard to achieve new goals and to deliver value to shareholders that has not been delivered and sustained in the past. They have also re-iterated the value of the mine which is something all shareholders should not forget. They have also spoken about ensuring that controls and measures are in place so that geographical remoteness does not become a problem; I like that and think it very wise of the new board. Did anybody notice the new registered address of the Company. That should also be food for thought. It will be interesting to see what develops there. It seems to me to be a very honest appraisal and update on behalf of the Company and I for one welcome it and look forward to the next positive update which based on today's RNS, I'm confident we will get. | dingbat21
21/8/2014 13:36 | Hi Sub - No. Mainly been making elaborate sand castles with excitable 8 year old and drinking lots of pastis :-) Nothing exciting to report re SNR. But spirits much buoyed by previous contacts with company post-AIM, reinforced by the RNS. Cheers, G. | growbag
21/8/2014 12:30 | Growbag .... Did you meet up with Bonnar in France??? | substp
21/8/2014 12:25 | A very encouraging announcement from the company - really welcome. I don't think I have seen too many RNS statements that are as genuine and candid as that one. There is much to be optimistic about here. From my own perspective, I am very confident that Mr Bonnar and the other directors are very determined to turn SNR around. That RNS is a good start - and clearly there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes -- It would be nice, I think, if any continued discussion on this thread is genuinely restricted to substantive and constructive information from SNR SHAREHOLDERS - it is, quite frankly, getting tiring wading through much of drivel written by the bulletin board junkies that have no interest in the company let alone any financial investment. Sincerely Growbag - Enjoying a lovely holiday in the south of France :-) | growbag |
