08/1/2021 17:40 | Yes for a HNW individual at these low prices its not unheard of to trip the 3% I own 1% of one company and it wouldn’t be too hard to get to 3 if i so wanted He will do very well out of this,. Bet he never envisaged he would own 3% of a growing London airport ! By stealth moves i mean the creeping up and sudden increase at close which looked unlely during the trading session. It’s done it most days this week | john09
08/1/2021 17:35 | Sorry, John09, can you explain 'stealth move'. Sounds intriguing. The holdings RNS this morning appears to be the work of a high-net worth individual, who has crossed a declaration threshold as he builds his stake. I recall when Toscafund bought in heavily at 40p and was very surprised when the share price tanked. Their investment was monumentally mistimed but I'm comforted that these big cheeses make mistakes like the rest of us. Covid was a bolt from the blue but it WILL pass and an investment here is almost guaranteed to make us money.I suggest if at all possible that readers of this blog visit the airport and see what they're invested in. It's a former airfield which was owned by Southend Council. It's nothing like Stansted, which is vast by comparison and an inconvenient airport to use. I am 40 miles away from Stansted and avoid it like the plague. Southend, by contrast, is in a busy residential area of the town and incredibly passengers can park close by, free of charge, and walk into the airport. I doubt if any other airport can boast such a convenience. If desired, there is also lots of airport parking close to the terminals.Stobart has developed the site recently but it is still a tiny airport by comparison with the other London hubs and cannot expand further because it's in a built up part of the town's suburbs. In this, Southend airport is unique.EasyJet understandably withdrew its operations from Southend earlier this year, citing the pandemic. But the airline will be just as ready to return as soon as the pandemic is tamed, as there is solid demand from the tourist market. Budget airlines are very agile. The biggest imponderable for me is the success of the three vaccines now authorised. I certainly wouldn't rely on any estimates from Johnson, yet u protected. It's in people's hands to stay isolated. It's the only way. Business at the airport will eventually pick up so I believe that patience here will pay dividends. | rayg5
08/1/2021 16:53 | There’s that stealth move at close again Very positive | john09
08/1/2021 16:52 | Breaking out . | y1phr1
08/1/2021 15:14 | To look on the positive side, this airport is a London tourist hub with a rail station direct to central London. I think it's Stobart's jewel in the crown. We only need EasyJet to resume flights from there - it had to quit as the demand collapsed owing to Covid - and I think we're off to the races. | rayg5
08/1/2021 12:20 | Another vaccine got go ahead by uk | y1phr1

08/1/2021 09:39 | This happened in March? What is the relevance here??? | rayg5
08/1/2021 09:27 | john097 Jan '21 - 17:39 - 2443 of 2457 0 0 1 £176m for a london airport lol -------------------- The Biomass Energy unit alone was last valued at £250mn and that they're looking to sell as per the recent trading statements. if that is sold, all remaining debt can be repaid, excess returned to shareholders and left with one good airport on the outskirts of London and a rock solid balance sheet | luddenden7
08/1/2021 09:15 | With the vaccine being rolled out fairly quickly this is a good recovery play now which people are starting to pick up on, hence the recent investor purchase. Could go up to 100p pretty quickly as things improve. | gaffer73
08/1/2021 09:12 | Looks like the Germans are ready to march ! | jotoha2
