Btw

There is no firm offer as yet

"The Board of STM Group has confirmed to Pension SuperFund Capital that, should a firm offer be made on the financial terms of the Possible Offer, it would be minded to recommend it unanimously to STM Group's shareholders. Should a firm offer be made, ..."

Lots of regulatory hoops to jump through here in the UK but more importantly in Gib and Malta. Will take time.

The market clearly rightly or wrongly oes not consider this a done deal
If it did the price would be a lot closer to 70p.

I am happy at the moment taking the risk and getting approx 20p more for taking the risk.
The key risk is purchaser pulling out imv. Others are regularity etc which should be easily overcome
The 70p will come in handy to buy xmas presents. Not expecting the money much before halloween

47p offer now!

Could be missing something completely but this is a cash offer at a huge premium. There's no entrenched shareholder who will turn this down. The risk of the deal being turned down on competitive grounds seems very low.

You can buy in the market now for 53p. Market sceptical of the deal.

Well done to holders here. Good things tend to happen when you buy for net cash and get a free option on *profitable* going concern value! It’s just a matter of timing and the wait can be long and hard. Enjoy your moment in the sun!

Brilliant news of today.
Having held since 2019 I'm very pleased to see the possible 70p.

I am in two minds whether to sell some to lock in some profit given that there are still a fair few hurdles to cross before this is a done deal.

But then if it does go through there's another 40 percent to be had, probably before the end of the year.

I was relieved and happy to see the headlines this morning that here was a possible cash offer
I expected it to be in the region of 35-40p.
Very pleased to see an offer of 70p per share.
I think that there has been a bidding war or auction behind the scenes to get such a high price. I can't see anybody else coming in with a higher price now

congrats to holders

especially to Baner who bt a big stake

I held for years (& it was my largest holding once) but threw in the towel due to the on-going fall in profits. Luckily I sold in 40-50p area I think & then back in around 25-35p, with a smaller amount, which did nothing, then out.

Used to be my largest holding but got fed up with the endless excuses and sold out about 6 months ago. Ouch! Well done those that stuck with it.

That's at the very top end of what I thought these were worth so I'm well chuffed.

Just have to hope it all goes through.

Great news this morning - but the value was hiding in plain sight here with the profitable stock having been broadly trading in line with its net cash

I'd like a fair bit more than 40p but it'll depend on what the major shareholders are prepared to accept. It looks to me like at least 50% of the shares are held by major shareholders.

It's been a pretty barren time for me on the markets the last 18 months or so, so getting a result here is nice.
