Starcom (LON:STAR) – CORP: Contract extension

Secures extension of contract for international organisation
Starcom has secured an extension of the contract with a major international organisation for a minimum 250 additional Helios vehicle tracking units, a hybrid of GPS satellite and GSM based communications, plus a central management console plus recurring fees for the web services. This follows the contract announced last September (and August) for 100 units of the new Helios Hybrid unit valued at $91k. The combination of satellite and GSM communications makes the unit more widely applicable. The subscription is for an initial 36 month period and there is scope for further unit sales.
NORTHLAND CAPITAL PARTNERS VIEW: As noted at the time of the September announcement, the customer has a considerable fleet of vehicles and there is scope for a number of contract wins, subject to the tender process. The further contract win demonstrates Starcom’s technical strength and the successful delivery of the initial 100 units. There is a considerable global market opportunity for Starcom with its newer product range (WatchLock, Tetis (previously Triton) and Helios Hybrid).

This looked like it could have gone somewhere after they signed that million pound deal, but with YA involved and directors selling shares it's one to stay clear of....are you two trying to ruin this thresad, another reason to stay clear.

Under the agreement, Pinnacle has committed to purchase many thousands of Helios units over a three year period and, in addition, will be responsible for monthly recurring fees for the use of Starcom's software service. The value of the contract over the three year period (including service fees) based on the quantities specified in the contract is US$5.5m.

Avi Hartmann, CEO of Starcom, commented, "This is our largest contract to date and we are delighted to be working with Pinnacle Systems on this major supply and support agreement. We are working hard to win and fulfil similar large high value contracts currently under discussion."
