06/11/2018 03:41 | My take is SLA have made this B.B. step to sustain EPS in near term and thereby the Divi (I hope). Is clear the 1bill cashed in on Friday has made no material difference to the share price as well as the daily 1 Mil they are also now restarted. It’s now all down to their next step business plan and protecting their current balance sheet while the reduce costs. All shares are risk and maybe SLA is at the higher end but I’m confident over next years they can become a solid investment case and solid divi yield | tornado12
05/11/2018 23:06 | Underhill, I'm not misreading anything. I have 7 for each 8 shares previously. I have £0.34 (almost) for those they "sold". If I don't buy back into the company with my own money, they've graciously gifted back to me, I'll get less of a dividend next May. The company is not legally able to "force" me into parting with my shares - only a government can do that (Labour :-) maybe). So, they concoct this strategy to make "A" and "B" shares..........then force me to sell. Crackin'. The money I received last Friday will pay my credit card bill for a pleasant break in Tenerife. I don't wish to buy back into SLA. As regards your statement "Possibly better than any other investment the company could make" - who knows? But for a company who's now placed in the Investment industry rather than the Assurance sector, and with more CEO's than you can shake a stick at, it's a pretty poor performance to find "nothing better to do with the money" than give it back to us. So, take that to the extreme. Wind the bloody thing up - pay us all out and be done with it. | mcunliffe1
05/11/2018 21:24 | No money yet from IG.Is it just me ? | latics2
05/11/2018 20:35 | I'm with Halifax and still to receive my monies. I've used Halifax online share dealing for several years and quite like them. I might reinvest mine in either TERN or DLG. DLG release a trading update tomorrow, wllm | wllmherk
05/11/2018 19:46 | MCunliffe1: "The SLA couldn't decide what to do with our cash either (strange, as they're an investment company) so sent it back to us shareholders." I think you're misreading this. You have fewer shares now. i.e. in effect this "return of capital" was the company buying your shares. Possibly better than any other investment the company could make. Shame it was at the cost of the shareholders. | underhill
05/11/2018 19:00 | stun12. Send it to me. The SLA couldn't decide what to do with our cash either (strange, as they're an investment company) so sent it back to us shareholders. Follow their lead. I can provide my sort code and account number to any upon request :-) :-) | mcunliffe1
05/11/2018 17:42 | Arrived after hours today at AJ Bell / Youinvest. Haven't quite decided what to do with it yet :-) | stun12
05/11/2018 16:58 | I do, when you intend to retire on your investments the 0.45% probably makes up about 10% of yield (assuming your portfolio yields 4-5%). I know they are supposedly good for customer service, but I just deal online and that is little better than the Halifax. Still not showing. | dr biotech
05/11/2018 14:30 | Dr Biotech...presumably you must have UT holdings at 0.45% pa with Hargreaves? The platform fee does seem high. For ITs and ordinary shares just £15 pa. for the lot or free for non ISA. | stewart64
05/11/2018 14:14 | Yes I'm with Halifax and have also not received mine. | spcecks
05/11/2018 14:02 | still a blank with the halifax is there anyone else still waiting | wilksey1
05/11/2018 12:19 | Still nothing in my Halifax, so you are not alone. Must admit I quite like them, I pay a lot less in fees with them than I do for my HL which costs me several hundred a year. | dr biotech
05/11/2018 12:18 | ...and mine late this morning. | cyberian
05/11/2018 11:38 | idealing.com have credited my account this morning. | br1an
05/11/2018 10:46 | HL---No problem here. Cash in hand. | rabbrooks
05/11/2018 08:54 | Mine re-invested in BP AT 08.00 this morning, remains to be seen if this was wise ;-) Still hold consolidated shares. Good luck all | sicker |
