29/5/2018 16:09 | I've only been involved with one ROC previously with an o&g explorer. One 'B' share was issued for every ordinary share on the previously noted date. A b share could not be bought or sold, it was essentially a temporary marker. After a week or so, maybe a couple of weeks, each B share was cancelled and a capital transfer made to the account in which the shares were held. It was a smooth and simple operation, and this was on AIM. I do not imply the exact same process will be adopted here, because I do not know. | cmackay
29/5/2018 13:40 | will our shareholding be reduced as per last time | timmy11
29/5/2018 13:07 | @specks - The issue of B shares is a 'return of capital' mechanism. You will not be able to retain the B shares; they will be compulsorily be redeemed for cash which will then be returned to shareholders. Distributed in this way the 'return of capital' will qualify as a capital repayment for tax purposes as opposed to income. | speedsgh

25/5/2018 10:37 | A large part of the valuation is predicted on whether an active fund management model is sustainable. The Aberdeen merger was to create scale and to give greater scope for cost reduction. SLA is more difficult to value as there are multiple moving parts. They will hold 19.99% of Phoenix, 27% of HDFC Standard Life, the valuation on that stake alone is around (very approx) £2.5 Billion, plus the PHNX £2.3 Billion of cash is to come. I think there may be value here, but caution is also warranted. If markets take a tumble over the next couple of months, SLA may well be available lower, how much longer is difficult to say. I've seen one TA view that is looking for sub £3. | essentialinvestor
