SSE PLC (SSE.LN) and Innogy SE (IGY.XE) said Friday that Katie Bickerstaffe has been appointed as CEO designate of their new retail energy joint venture.
Ms. Bickerstaffe, who is currently chief executive of Dixons Carphone PLC's (DC.LN) U.K. and Ireland operations, will take up her new role later this year. She will help form the new company and prepare it to be listed on the London Stock Exchange, which is expected in the last quarter of 2018 or the first quarter of 2019, the companies said.
They said her role during that period won't include any involvement in the leadership or management of either SSE or Innogy.
In November 2017, Innogy agreed to merge its U.K. retail business Npower with SSE's household energy-services business to form a new independent retail energy company.
