Westhouse;
Sprue has announced that it has been notified that its European product variants have completed final key testing. Typically, the receipt of formal paperwork and certification documentation follows within four weeks. Once these have been received full scale manufacturing production will commence. Today’s news means that Sprue should be able to start selling its new products into Germany by the end of Q2 as outlined in last week’s results. We make no changes to our forecasts, 200p TP or Buy rating.

Good news on the European product certification - this will allow sales into Germany which underpins the improved H2 performance that has been forecast by the company.

Glaws2 - You're slightly out...they presented at 25 meetings over the 2-days! Hopefully that will help redress some of the fanciful & outlandish comments on this thread, Daily Mail & elsewhere.

John Rosier has kindly written up his impression from the ShareSoc presentation which is in the comments field of Paul Scott's Stocko blog yesterday. Post 8

There has been a US based seller which has depressed the share price considerably more than I'd have anticipated...believe it cleared last night.

Kind regards,
GHF

The Directors are doing a round of presentations - the Sharesoc last night was one of 13 they were doing over two days. It's likely that the institutional briefings have had more of an affect.

Just for reference the company is mentioned in the 'Daily Mail - This is Money' website. Fir those of you interested the link is below:-

To be honest, I'm not sure what the article's problem is, yes the directors are getting £500K in dividends but they are only getting this income as they are shareholders themselves?!

It clearly is. They won't get Orders in Germany until they have the required approval for the Panasonic battery in their product. They have orders just waiting for this approval. So clearly there is some correlation. France is weak because of over stocking. This will clear at some point and the company have already said that normal demand in France is now about 20% higher that before the spike. They reiterated Uk trade is doing very well.

Fixating on the battery issue is a mistake.

Current trading is loss making, nothing to do with the batteries.

As others have commented elsewhere, I thought the tone of today's results summary was correct in the circumstances. No further shocks or surprises following on from last week's trading update & pleasing to see that the dividend was maintained at 8p for the year.

At the current shareprice this provides a annual dividend yield of 6.3%.

I was delighted that ShareSoc & Sprue have arranged a meeting for Private Investors tomorrow evening. Paul Scott sums the position correctly - IMHO - via his excellent daily STOCKO blog,

"This seems an excellent idea. Well done to ShareSoc in taking the initiative. Well done also to SPRP management for being prepared to face private investors, and answer questions, so soon after a major profit warning. I'd like to see more such meetings, and maybe webcasts too, when difficulties arise at any company.

I often complain about the lack of specific information available to private investors, especially when there are problems at a company. SPRP is a very good example of how the bad news was actually handled very well - the company published specific guidance on its revised profit expectations, and has agreed to meet private investors to answer questions. ALL COMPANIES SHOULD DO THIS. Vaguely worded profit warnings, with no figures, are just totally unacceptable, which sadly is the norm from most companies."

---

I'd agree that the Sprue team are to be commended updating PI's at the ShareSoc event. Hopefully this will be the start in restoring investor confidence.

In my post last week (post 1375) I commented on the low Enterprise Value of the company which has now fallen to c. £34m, with over £100m wiped from the market cap in recent weeks. Also mentioned that Sprue had their fair share of trials which they have battled through previously.

I don't believe this setback over batteries will be any different and still believe most of the growth drivers previously placed in the header information stand. Sprue's management & employees will be doing all they can to address the situation and deliver on their ambitious growth plan. I've every confidence they will.

Kind regards,
GHF

Just a reminder that ShareSoc have arrange a results and business briefing for shareholders and potential investors for tomorrow evening...

There are only 23 places remaining available so register quickly.

David - Thanks for arranging the above. Unfortunately won't be able to attend (too far for me to travel).

The fact that Sprue are willing to meet with investors to discuss their results + more importantly the recent [poor] trading update should be seen as a positive imo. Will be interested to hear feedback from anyone that may be able to attend.
