RNS Number:1911D Gaming Internet PLC 8 May 2001 Tuesday 8th May, 2001 GAMING INTERNET PLC APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & AWARD OF ITC LICENCE FOR GOBARKINGMAD Gaming Internet Plc ("Gaming Internet" or "the Company"), the digital media rights and interactive gambling products business, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Betts as Non-Executive Director, with effect from 8th May, 2001. Tom Betts, 36, has over 10 years' experience in the media and broadcasting sector. He has been the Commercial Director at Carlton Television Limited (" Carlton") since 1997, having started his career with Carlton in 1995 as Controller of Commissioning & Network Business Affairs. Tom has been involved in a variety of transactions during his time at Carlton, most recently the Carlton/Granada reorganisation of ITV/ONdigital, Carlton's bid for racing media rights, the Carlton/United News & Media merger and the ONdigital acquisition of Football League rights. Prior to its acquisition by Carlton, Tom worked for Central Television for three years from 1991, primarily as the legal adviser to its Production division and subsequently as Central Broadcasting's Director of Legal & Business Affairs. From 1988 to 1991, Tom was employed by the City law firm, Denton Hall, working in its Entertainment & Media division following his qualification as a solicitor in 1990. Broadcast Licence The Independent Television Commission ("ITC") has awarded gobarkingmad, the interactive greyhound racing channel owned by Gaming Internet, a licence to broadcast its greyhound racing and gaming content via terrestrial, satellite and cable television platforms in the UK. The licence is for a 10 year period and has been granted with immediate effect. The award of the ITC licence is an important step in Gaming Internet's strategy to broadcast over 100,000 greyhound races per annum, allowing viewers the opportunity to bet on a race through interactive digital television every five minutes, twenty four hours per day. David Sanderson, Chief Executive of Gaming Internet Plc, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Tom to the Board.
