Just time for a brief rant about iDealing. In all my other accounts, I got the dividend credited about two weeks ago. iDealing claim to have received the divi via USD cheque, which only today has been credited to my account...in USD! I dread to think how long it will take them to convert it to sterling. They also won't accept a W8-BEN, so you end up paying full witholding tax. My advice would be to avoid them as a dealer entirely, and especially for holdings in SOM.

alotto, what you have here is a company with world leading products in a niche market run by very mediocre management who have a very parochial view of their potential i.e. Little if no understanding of export markets.

As such they are a prime target for a bid. In the meantime enjoy the divi income. If you hold that is.

I found the AGM today very disappointing. No clue given to investors about the order book ("we work on a momentum basis and we cannot make long term predictions"). Some time ago last year, I remember them saying that Somero was somehow suffering from a bottle neck effect from their customers due to limited supply of building materials, which indirectly affected Somero and the orders. This time around management seem to be clueless about what's happening in the industry.
On top of that they didn't give a trading update today, because they work on momentum (again) and since historically they give a trading update in June they will stick to June. Are they clueless even about their order book from here to June?
I'll hold my shares but I don't expect fireworks in June.

The withholding tax is 15%... the other 1% or so is the haircut charged on the FX rate.

The dividend was 25.7 cents so with an exchange rate of about 1.25 $/£ this translates as 20.56p which gives a withholding tax of about 17%.

I have my Somero shares in an account with Charles Stanley Direct. I received the dividend on 5 May at the rate of 17.06 GPX per share. Does this concur with what others have received?

The outlook comments were very up beat in the full year statement...no hint of caution except for "supply chain delays and concrete shortages". Nothing on the demand side which I find worrying.
