With the 30p resistance gone this could hit 25p. Considered selling at 39p but didn't! One day I will get it right!

Trouble is, what's going to make it bounce? The last time it was the pending main market listing and that's been and gone. This fall seems relentless. How far are they going to drop this.

Agreed Chk, be surprised if it drops sub 30, it does seem to have strong support there. I have funds waiting if it does so win both ways :@)

I look to that 8+ million tons of copper in Alpala as support kev :¬) Never mind all the other stuff Solg must have!

Thank you alwaysevolving, but you have to remember that I don't actually 'know' anything. It's all a guessing game based upon what one can glean from the company website and anything else that can be found on the web. Then guess again about how long it takes to get a mine up and running, and at what point a miner has to put his money down to begin the process of working towards opening a mine.

In this case with an apparently looming squeeze in copper supply, there might be an incentive to move a bit faster than the norm? (say 5 years instead of 10?) The other positive is there seems a good relationship between Newcrest and Solg, and there is perhaps a chance that Aguinaga if an open-pit candidate could be brought into production first to provide capital for the deep mining? Hence champing at the bit about putting a drill into Aguinaga.

If Solg were already a big miner then the assets of Cascabel and the new tenements would probably be reflected in the balance sheet, but at present it's a prospector with no income and burning cash pretty fast. Hence the big bully boys will be trying to squeeze Solg. So NM has to triage his resources to get the most effective sequence of establishing value, thus everything into Alpala to establish it's worth and viability as a mineable asset. It's the financial bridgehead, all else will follow on from there.

Another big positive is the care that Solg has taken to fully include the locals, both at a social village level in educating the locals in new agricultural techniques and as an employer of local labour. Thus the locals have a sense that this is 'their' project and they will benefit very much from it. I feel that Solg has been granted the new tenements due to this socially inclusive track record, if it works at Cascabel then it can work at other locations. Hence we are at the beginning of what could turn out to be a very long story indeed.

alwaysevolving, naturally I'm as impatient as the next person to see this come to fruition, I have no doubt there is a huge resource in the ground, but recognise that the value will only be reflected in the share price when a miner steps up to the plate. Whether that be a JV or an outright purchase is yet to be seen. We are perhaps hoping for too much from the anticipated maiden resource statement to lift the share price?

I suspect that major mining houses have put their slide rules over Alpala, but will sit on their hands until they see a feasibility study since the decision makers are likely to be company career men rather than being their own men. So unless there is a surprise deal I'm not expecting too much for at least 18 months.

Of course money is being consumed, that will not help negotiations if it drags on too long. My hopes are for an early commitment by Newcrest, to save Solg from having to cave in to the likes of BHP. So my time frame 18 months to two years for Cascabel, but who knows what else they are going to find!

Mrpiggy, I suppose the market is chasing income so actual miners in production is where the ready money is going. A resource iceberg that requires some patience before being an income generator, is a bit like going to the supermarket to buy a lot of ingredients, when you'd rather have fast-food right now! They don't want to buy the pantry, they want a bun in their hand now. Eventually the sheer scale of the value here will register, I'm sure NM wants it asap, much as all the little guys like us.

Noticeably not happening here brex-pistols, I shall just have to dwell upon that eqv 8 million tons of copper at $7000 a ton, sat in just one part of one tenement amongst 59 tenements!

lefrene,

If the share price continues to languish this increases the risk of a behemoth making an opportunistic bid claiming a significant premium over the last 3 to 4 months average price. IMO, that's why the falling share price should concern the BOD.

High time we got a newsworthy set of drill results and, preferably, a clear timetable for November drilling of a new prospect such as Aquinaga, plus the highlights of what the geophysics is suggesting. Of course exploration is a long haul but the story needs envigorating every few months. And they are not short of drill rigs!
