Very early days here but with the interest to date combined with few PIs buying at less than 13.25p, I can see there is limited downside for me at present. I agree the buying and initial enthusiasm will wear off at some point but I believe we have a decent base level from which to build.

Mike - all fair points. The business model is the same as OPTI and we know as much a bigger group when SkinBiotix was part of it, OPTI was funded for almost 3 years assuming no revenues. SBTX will almost certainly do as OPTI do - bring in JV partners, who will pay a fee to sit at the table while they perform DD with the IP. The partner assumes the financial risk. That said, as you point out, SBTX is c20 months away from a commercial product. SBTX is essentially a virtual company operating out of UoM, so costs will be minimal. I think I am write in members of the board remain employed by UoM. I will try to get this confirmed at some point, but for now I have been asked to give Cathy time to settle in before intruding.

Hi all,
Can we get a little real here folks. It's all very well this share price 'rocketing' right now, but according to the CEO the lead product (cosmetic) is expected to market 'towards the end of 2018'.

Meantime they will eat up funds, and may require a partner who will market it, to pay for the human trials.

Will it be successful - we don't know yet, certainly cosmetics is a very competative market and we don't know what is going on in the labs of big cosmetic companies, we can be certain they are not standing still.

We are assuming the share price will keep climbing for quite a while because ..... well because OPTI did. But that can be no more than an assumption. And in reality the science here is VERY different from what OPTI is doing.

In fact - the only real connection is SOH and his potential 'magic touch' at spotting winners.

There will be news to carry this along from time to time, and it may be that Skin themselves will need to fund phase 1 & 2 of their trials to attract a substantial partner for phase 3 and beyond.

Don't get me wrong this is a fair gamble, but personally I'm not going to chase the price up to get more. I failed at open yesterday to get any size to increase my initial holding, so have backed of for now, and will see how this goes from here.

But ... I'm not in any rush.

Best wishes - Mike

We might start to see the rise continue because the MACD chart is just beginning to cross the signal line once again as the selling cycle begins to tail off.

If the 42 percent Opti holding in sbtx will possibly given back to Opti s/h's free of charge, how does that benefit the Opti share price ?

Not really T34. Though SBTX is on OPTI's balance sheet, it is all but temporary because eventually the 42% will be distributed to OPTI PI's. If there was a big commercial deal announced by SBTX, it quite possibly would have an positive impact on OPTI, as well as its own share price And I dare say SBTX could still have a positive impact on OPTI's share price if SBTX continues on its current trajectory, but not like for like and not a direct correlation.

The market can stay irrational longer than we can stay solvent - or something like that ? Its the irrationality of the market that gives us a chance to make profits, though, so don't knock it !
The value in OPTI will come out one day. I imagine that the spin offs, assuming there are more to follow, will eventually be snapped up by predators for multiples of their IPO prices, and the cash will be pocketed by OPTI and ultimately us !
So those with OPTI shares ( and SBTX ) bought at these levels will be laughing.
Of course, if you are looking for a quick profit, then its likely to be frustrating.

guys, if sbtx shares slide how can this have a negative impact on opti shares if they only cost 400,000. I mean, they are worth 8 millions now but opti shares have fallen. Im baffled.

I think Rage said he had 80k OPTI and might switch some into SBTX when the price falls back to the IPO price. Around the same time my packet of smoky bacon takes wings. So he has not bought any SBTX yet, IIRC.

How come we OPTI holders were not able to take part in IPO or given some shares?
