I must admit I don't get this. Looked like the best and final offer but market still trading above the bid price. Does someone think there's more to come?

Not sure what yesterday's rise was but it has flown lower today. Sold myself at 429.5p after dithering at 440p because I retained hope of some bidder surfacing. Can;t see it happening now.

Interesting that the market price stays so consistently above the bid price. That usually suggests that the market expects a counterbid but you would have thought something would have appeared by now if so.

Clearly I got the January 14th date wrong. However the continuing decline in the share price is not particularly encouraging. But what do I know as a minnow private investor with no inside knowledge.

Thought we would have heard more by yesterday as it is my understanding that under UK-stock exchange rules other parties have until January 14 to make a counter offer. GIP has already indicated it intends to remove the company from the London Stock Exchange when it acquires the company.

Yes it does seem odd. Either the market is convinced there's going to be a bidding war or they've got the exchange rate wrong!

With seemingly £4.07 on the table and accepted it is going to take some push to take it over yesterday's high of £4.451. A bird in the hand comes to mind. I wonder what he would say. Sadly I am not Dr Doolittle.

Sold out at £4.445. May be premature but I can't see how it can go much higher with the current situation unlikely to improve sentiment towards commercial and private air travel.

I'm not sure I'm understanding this. Looks as if the market doesn't think the bidding war is over. New "recommended" offer of 405p and the share price goes to 440! Hmmm!

The market's definitely factoring in a higher bid - the share price has been consistently above the level of the Blackstone offer. Let the bidding war ensue!

jetstar - unfortunately the statement from the company on Monday suggests that they haven't seen passengers switching to private flights:

".. we have seen a material decline in flight activity across our network of on average 65% per day ..."

".. our current US B&GA market guidance for a flat market in 2020, given at our Final Results presentation on 3 March, is now unlikely to materialise..."

I'm not a holder, but surprised this is down so much today on the Coronavirus news. A lot of businesses and individuals are opting to fly privately to avoid flying with the airlines due to the increased risk of sharing a metal tube with 500 potential virus carriers! I wouldn't mind betting (if I had any spare cash I would buy) that Signature have seen an uptick in the private jet market business in the last few weeks as a result.
