Very fortunate that the US had a drone in the area just ready to take the photos (angle is much too low for it to be a satellite).

Suspiciously like it was a pre-planned photo-shoot. Possibly using US friendly actors...?

(Remember, believe only half of what you see...)

Pentagon releases extraordinary close-up photos of Iran's Revolutionary Guard fleeing after removing unexploded mine from Gulf oil tanker - as Trump orders 1,000 MORE troops to Middle East

Too many imponderables

Pictures taken after the explosion

Were they the ones that put it there in the first place

Were they trying to avoid another explosion risk by dismantling and or defusing it

By blocking the straits iran would be one of the first economically hurt

Is Iran being framed and which countries gain from a blockage

Strange japanese ship affected when japans top official was visiting Tehran

DOES PENTAGON HAVE THE SMOKING GUN

HAD THEY SENT IN GIBBS OF NCIS, HE WOULD HAVE WORKED IT OUT IN 45MINUTES

European stocks set to open mixed as investors monitor Draghi speech and UK politics
Published 11 min agoUpdated Moments Ago

Key Points

The Fed is scheduled to start a two-day monetary policy meeting on Wednesday stateside, when investors will look for clues about potential rate cuts.
Investors will be monitoring simmering tensions between Washington and Tehran, after acting U.S. Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan announced Monday that 1,000 troops will be deployed to the Middle East, citing concerns about a threat from Iran.

European stocks were seen mixed Tuesday as investors await a speech from European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, ahead of this week’s crucial U.S. Federal Reserve meeting.

Early calls had the FTSE 100 up around 5 points at 7,362 and the DAX down around 19 points at 12,067, as Lufthansa’s Monday profit warning continues to weigh on the German benchmark. France’s CAC 40 was expected to open around 4 points lower at 5,387, according to IG data.

Central banks are in focus this week. Draghi is set to speak at 9 a.m. BST, while Fed is scheduled to start a two-day monetary policy meeting on Wednesday stateside, when investors will look for clues about potential rate cuts.

Asian markets were mostly higher Tuesday, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index adding 0.7% while only Japanese indexes slipped into the red.

Investors will be monitoring simmering geopolitical tensions after acting U.S. Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan announced Monday that 1,000 troops will be deployed to the Middle East, citing concerns about a threat from Iran. Fears of a confrontation between Iran and the U.S. have mounted since last Thursday, when two oil tankers were attacked, which Washington has blamed on Tehran

Back in Europe, the six remaining Conservative party hopefuls to replace British Prime Minister Theresa May will face a second round of voting by secret ballot Tuesday, with Brexiteer Boris Johnson the clear frontrunner despite refusing to participate in Sunday’s live television debate.

Shell fined for explosions, gas leak at Dutch chemical plant
June 17, 2019 at 8:59 am

The Associated Press

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — A Dutch court has fined oil giant Shell 2.5 million euros ($2.8 million) for breaching Dutch labor and environmental laws in a case linked to two explosions and a gas leak at a chemical plant south of Rotterdam.

The East Brabant court ruled Monday that Shell did not take sufficient precautions to prevent two blasts and a subsequent fire that injured two workers when the company restarted two reactors at a chemical plant in the village of Moerdjik on June 3, 2014.

The court also held Shell liable for a leak of ethylene oxide gas that lasted from Nov.14, 2015, until Jan. 27, 2016, at the same plant.

Shell did not immediately respond to an email and phone call seeking comment.

I`m looking to add to my current holding some time this week at sub 2500p. With the recent announcement about the pending shareholder returns an ideal long term hold. I`ve recently swapped my fuel supplier to Shell Energy, worked out at over £100 cheaper per year than previous supplier and still in the early stages of gas/electricity supply.

European stocks set to open higher as investors await crucial Fed meeting
Published 8 min ago
Elliot Smith
@ElliotSmithCNBC

Key Points

Investors will be anticipating the Fed meeting amid expectations that the U.S. central bank could be cutting interest rates soon.
In the U.K., Conservative party candidates to replace British Prime Minister Theresa May, in a live TV debate on Sunday, took aim at favorite Boris Johnson over his promise to take Britain out of the European Union with or without a deal on October 31.

European stocks are set to open higher Monday as investors await this week’s crucial U.S. Federal Reserve meeting.

The FTSE 100 is seen up around 24 points at 7,370, while the DAX is expected to open 24 points higher at 12,120. France’s CAC 40 is set to nudge 7 points higher to 5,375, according to IG data.

'The price of oil jumped 4% after the news hit, but then backed off to a mere 2% pop. At the end of the week, traders were paying less than they had paid at the beginning of the week. Also, there's this: the industrialized world's most required commodity is off by more than 20% since the late April peak price.'

It is not straight forward correlation. Still think it will go to £30ish - sometime.

Well when it comes to understanding the complex integrated energy tangled web we live in that's the level it needs pitched at.

Some folk seem to think a flick of a switch will get us to carbon neutral by 2050.
