Seems a bit soon to be calling the bottom, just a rally I think.

I'm not expecting a short squeeze, bears will have time to unwind their positions slowly I think.

Unless something changes politically.

Ian, fair point, it looks a dome deal in any case.

That is one of the first days for a long time that Shell has risen against
both a falling UKX and falling oil price.

The path of least resistance appears to be up towards my upper tramline. A break above that will send the shares towards my first target in the 1,800p area. I believe crude has not yet bottomed, but, when it does, the majors will move much higher and my initial target for Shell is 2,000p, with higher potential thereafter.

Mine are in a nominee account so have not even looked,
unless you instruct the broker to vote No, you are automatically
voted Yes from memory, inertia is one of the reasons why this vote will
not be anywhere even near close imv - would have voted Yes in any case.

That is a lovely intra day reversal, if the market behaves tomorrow
and oil does not fall out of bed may get a run well in to the 14's imv,
or just wishful thinking )

The hedge funds were short 392 mill barrels in the market, record highs buying back only 4% caused the spike during Thursday and Friday.

They have an awful lot to buy back, could get interesting at some point.

Deal makes Shell supplier of 18% of current global LNG.

Theoretically, this gives Shell some leverage to control LNG prices.

I have voted for the deal, fwiw. To me it about Shell as a business long term and the BG bid helps as I see it. I am well down on my meagre holding compared to many on here doubts. However, as it forms part of my income portfolio, I will top up as and when funds allow. Good luck which ever way you vote.

And while i am about it let me just say this, when all the various players realise (and react accordingly) that with a few a adjustments on production
in the various places{and methods) to extract are executed in a cost effective
manner it probably wont actually take very long for sensible prices (not to high or low)to return.

Why would anyone in there right mind produce so much that the price is lower than it costs to produce and then store it up. Sort yourselves out chaps.
