I wouldn’t put it past the Russians to have manufactured the corona virus In their labs, introduce it it China to start a bear market, short the hell out of everything then destroy the oil market and watch the West fall to pieces. All payback for sanctions and general disrespect. This is going to get ridiculously ugly

Putin will have the last laugh, he does not need the revenue as much as Saudi, but the point was to destroy US shale and Trump’s sanctions against Nordstream 2. Trump is simply living up to his reputation as being unfit for office, he is the Black Swan, fails to recognise anything in front of him!

Today’s going to be my Lazarus day, having held SCO for 3 years!
Unbelievable a crude oil war in the midst of a virus crisis while Saudi teaches Putin a lesson!
I still remember working in the $10/bbl years... who knows where the bottom is!

Too early to buy, it could go far lower, especially if they announce the first ever dividend cut. In 2016 Oil didn't fall 30% in a day, or to $20 as some are forecasting.

These prices are already bargains now we move into fire sales territory. For me is no brainer as a long termer, I going to enjoy topping up my investment and pushing my average divi return well above 7%. We have seen this before except Shell now has a stronger balance sheet than 2016 to ride this out. No cut in dividend and in maximum 2 yrs back >22£

It's now getting rather close to our break-even of $30 for 2019 FIDs.

So hopefully no more than a quarter or two at these levels.

Capex will need to be throttled right back by Q4 if these prices persist into Q3.

US shale - excluding the majors and Stateside IOCs - will be shuttering within weeks. That will be 2 million barrels out of production by Q4.

2021 could be looking good for the big companies that can ride out the turbulence.

Expect heavy US sanctions to be stepped up further against any target Trump can conjure up.

At what price do bargain hunters start accumulating? Is this when NOCs and big oil survive and small players get crushed?

This is moronic value destruction by childish folly.

Aramco will never get a full float at their intended price after this.

The markets won't forget.
