with these strong results, this company deserves re-rating and possibly brokers recommendations soon. It seems it has turned the corner, generating really strong results. It does look it was undervalued quite a lot. It should be 5 billion company

Really strong results. Bascially, they have done 2021 forecasts in 2020 and dividend is ahead of expectations. The forecasts for 2022 and now the expectations for 2021. Rupert Soames manages to personalise his statement in a way that many PLC CEOs just never do - I take my hat off to him for that. They seem to have left themselves a bit of room for upgrades later in the year as well and may well have firepower for further acquisitions. With the growth in the role of "The State" around the world, there's going to be increasing demand for their services whatever the unions say.

Defence spending in the US will not change much IMO and regardless of total spend the sectors Serco has bought into are projected to grow. Lots of ocean to patrol and have fun in around the South China Sea/Pacific and many more ships to be built and serviced. Navigation is paramount and war games need serious tech.

Biden won't reduce defense spending, he's about to take on China, Russia, North Korea & Turkey lol The French are helping out with Turkey and China. The UK is trying to work out which path has the yellow brick road. France and America are trying to preserve the free world.

Perhaps some investors aren't keen on the USA defence work...if Biden reduces defence spending Serco could lose out?

With current interest rates, almost any deal is accretive to earnings if financed by borrowings. But it looks a sensible add-on deal.

'immediately accretive to earnings' - looks a good deal with additional future cost savings.

US acquisition - NOT contract win. Bought using existing cash/debt facilities and appears to be well received by the market.

US contract win. I wouldn't sell. Firm hold.
The tide is turning and I believe the results might be encouraging. I'm expecting the re-introduction of the dividend to be announced also next week. I know things have been tuff here but be patient for a little longer and we will be rewarded.

Well, I suppose, given that there isn't much travel going on, the need for border security isn't so great.

Very disappointing share price performance over the past few months, despite the positive updates. What will it take to move it North again, is it sentiment related or something else?
