10/2/2014 17:53 | Certainly does Osi, never mind, hopefully there is still time to see a bit of profit on what we paid, if not still a useful risk free means of saving money for a rainy day(plenty of those recently!) | davethehorse
10/2/2014 08:53 | Oh well Dave, I know there is a long way to go but it looks (for now) like we'll be settling for the "get your cash back with a little bit of interest" option at the end of this share save. Osi'. | osirisra

30/1/2014 17:36 | There are plenty more mines ready and primed for SRP to tread on. Wouldn't touch this with "yours". Beginning of the end? Watch this space...... | palwing32
30/1/2014 13:39 | Quelle surprise.....pas! | palwing13
30/1/2014 12:59 | Looks like SRP will be stuck in a downward trend for a while now unless they put out a string of big contract wins - not a good chart at all now | davethehorse
30/1/2014 11:42 | Reason for the drop in the share price is a 5% drop in 2013 revenue and the forecast of a further drop in revenue in 2014 - 'A mid-single digit percentage organic decline on 2013 revenue is now anticipated. This reflects the lower level of incremental work won across the Group to date, the attrition from contracts lost such as Electronic Monitoring, and our latest assessment of the impact of volume reductions in our Australian immigration detention services contract to which we referred in November. It also includes assumptions as to the extent to which we will be successful in securing further rebids and extensions as well as new bid opportunities during the year. 2014 will include the additional ongoing costs related to the corporate renewal programme. These are estimated at approximately GBP10m a year and will be within the Group's Adjusted operating profit. There will be one-off costs incurred in 2014 of approximately GBP15m, reflecting principally the external advisers and other directly-related costs of programme implementation, including initial training and systems set-up' | pjt105
06/1/2014 11:48 | Looking good again now :-) | davethehorse
30/12/2013 13:37 | SRP pushing the 500p resistance level, if it goes through we should see a climb back to 550p sort of level short term now the bad news is all (apparently) out of the way | davethehorse
23/12/2013 14:01 | There seems to be a steady stream of news , mostly positive , that seems to indicate that the worst is over as far as Government contracts go. The direction of travel is clear , central Government wants to reduce its direct operational involvement with all sorts of services that it provides. Instead, central Government is seeking to act as a commissioner for services, not too different from the huge upheavals going on within the NHS and clinical commissioning groups (CCG's which have taken over from the old PCT's) Serco is too valuable to the Government as it provides an element of competition when contracts go ou to tender. Thus, for the immiedate future, Serco is safe and it has many years still left on its biggest contracts. IMHO, so DYOR, the silly p/e for Serco offers huge upside potential as the small newsflow of recent weeks gathers momentum. | bigboyo
20/12/2013 09:51 | I agree davethehorse, I bought in here this morning on that little dip. | liam1om
20/12/2013 09:50 | Probably quite a few shorts had to be hastily closed after the 2nd announcement yesterday - some decent volume traded! The shares should recover now IMO, the 2nd statement was positive and a prison contract extension this morning more positive news now all the bad stuff seems to be out the way. | davethehorse
19/12/2013 14:43 | Serco is an outsourcing company and not in the car business. I despair. | brain smiley
19/12/2013 14:03 | A few back handers seem to have done the trick. Why do they think that Joe Public is fooled to think otherwise? The older I get, the more I despair. | palwing32
19/12/2013 12:06 | Serco retains entitlement to bid for government contracts. What corrupt world do we live in. share price is rocketing. | p777uly
19/12/2013 09:33 | Bottom line is, "would you buy a 2nd hand car off this lot?"Doubtful at best. | palwing32 |
