05/10/2014 00:44 | This news about Ebola is encouraging. ".....While Ebola continues to devastate West African nations including Liberia and Sierra Leone, the outbreak in Nigeria – where the Howard patient had traveled – may actually be coming to an end, with no new cases since Aug. 31, the CDC reported earlier this week. At one point, 894 people in Nigeria were being monitored since they had come into contact with someone sick with Ebola." | dukedosh
03/10/2014 20:54 | I sold AFR long ago. Kurdistan too close for comfort to the ISIL ops in Northern Iraq for my liking. As for Ebola, Malaria kills 1.5 million Africans EVERY year, AIDS even more which kind of puts it into perspective a tad. Welcome to Africa. | dukedosh
03/10/2014 18:46 | Thanks for that, this stock deserves much more notice, given the MCap. How do you think it compares with Afr? | chopsy
03/10/2014 17:27 | RBC note earlier today: Seplat Petroleum (LSE: SEPL, Outperform, Speculative Risk, 310p Price Target) Seplat is scheduled to publish its Q3/14 numbers on the 30th October. We expect the release to provide a brief operating update that includes unchanged FY14 production guidance of 23-25,000b/d oil and 38-45MMcfd gas, and a commitment to deliver on its production growth targets – in Q3/14 the company took delivery of a new 150MMcfd gas facility at Oben and commissioning work has apparently commenced. Acquisitions remain an integral part of the company’s growth strategy - management has placed $453m as a refundable deposit against a potential investment – however, it is impossible to predict if and when any deals will conclude. | dukedosh

09/8/2014 10:57 | Yes, it's seeming to be more volatile than I had expected when I created this thread. I'm not invested, but I'm keeping an eye on this one. I guess buy on dips is the right strategy. I do wonder if the current weakness is simply acquisition related, or whether Ebola epidemic has anything to do with it. I am invested in Lekoil, ("simply cannot ignore the largest discovery in Africa last year")and I have the same thought about the current weakness there. | chopsy
05/8/2014 12:52 | Thought I'd missed the boat here as this share price left us all behind after the IPO, in spectacular fashion. Well surprised this has now come back to nigh on the IPO price. As a result, I've bought heavily into this dip. Here's a the latest note from RBC, I particularly like the end paragraph: Seplat Petroleum (LSE: SEPL, Outperform, Speculative Risk, 310p Price Target) We have updated our earnings and cash flow forecasts for Seplat's H1/14 actuals; the numbers were generally in line with our forecast, however, the cash proceeds, net of the IPO costs and various repayments fell slightly short of our expectations. In addition we have updated our forecasts for management's revised capex guidance FY14 spending is now budgeted at $250m. As a result of these changes we have trimmed our Tangible NAV to 239p/share (from 255p) and our Total NAV to 303p/share (from 319p). The company continues to develop its fields and grow production onshore Nigeria; however, the payment in Q2/14 of a $453m refundable deposit has raised expectations about an imminent bid/acquisition. | dukedosh
13/6/2014 23:12 | My Number and Mrs Lama: BUY SEPL I have, lol. NEWS ON THE WAY AND VERY GOOD! VERY GOOD NEW ON THE WAY. Exploration: The Company's first exploration well, Ogegere-1, was drilled to a total depth of 12,260 ft MD (11,830 ft) and encountered a total of six (6) oil bearing sands. Based on the initial well results, especially within the deeper objective interval, and correlation with other results within the same stratigraphic interval, the Company believes that the deep interval opens up a potentially new play within the Seplat concession area. The well has been suspended pending further evaluation. Confirmation of order Your order to: 'Buy £3,000.00 worth of SEPLAT Petroleum Development Co Ltd at 250.6500p' has been executed on 13/06/2014. You have successfully BOUGHT 1192 units in SEPLAT Petroleum Development Co Ltd. | alamaison

09/5/2014 07:53 | agree, but can you please tick all the boxes to add the graphs, finanacials news etc to the header? TIA | chopsy
23/4/2014 08:28 | Thought someone ought to set up a thread for a newly listed Billion pound plus O & G company. Interestingly they seem to be getting to grips with the oil theft from the Delta, enabling the company to grow rapidly. | timberwolf3 |
