20/4/2017 09:39 | Whatever the pros and cons of the Edison valuation, I still find it hard to fathom our valuation against other companies like PANR and FOG to name but two. | soulsauce
20/4/2017 09:36 | Watched the PW interview. He doesn't half look confident!!! Exciting times. | pauliewonder
20/4/2017 09:34 | will my 65p ceiling get tested today? | trapissed monk

20/4/2017 09:30 | Cjtk, let us know when the get oil shows please :-) | thelung
20/4/2017 09:03 | 12.5% is the discount rate. Forget the net - that's an error . just work on gross and net wi. net risked value/absolute $m figure is the NAV in $ millions. eg Meseda 2 x 5.2 with 100% COS less 12.5% gives 09 cents. | captain james t kirk
20/4/2017 09:01 | PW said they believe there is 15m-100m barrels of oil, h said that.Doesn't mean there is!!!These same horizons in western desert of Egypt are prolific oil producers...Why did large players want to farm in when we already had partner and didn't ask for one? They have also seen something..Imho | neo26
20/4/2017 08:56 | NEO you say "...Beneath the gas, sdx believe they have 15m-100m barrels of oil…." NO they really don't. They think oil is a possibility. They hope they've got oil. They certainly, definitely, absolutely do NOT believe any such thing. Not yet. You are failing to understand the limitations of 3D seismic and its interpretation. All that can be derived from seismic is the presence of geologic formations capable of trapping oil. You can never determine whether any oil has actually found its way into those formations and stayed there until you drill. Its like seeing a treasure chest on the sea bed. It might contain gold doubloons. But oftentimes it's just sand. You've got to open the lid before you can know what's inside. | tournesol
20/4/2017 08:46 | Does anyone not feel this report is funny, we have non producing oil companies being valued higher and on future potential. These guys have not put any value on the oil speculationBeneath the gas, sdx believe they have 15m-100m barrels of oil. Up to date the 3d has been 100% accurate.Ask yourself why did big players want to farm in after 3d, we didn't ask them? | neo26
20/4/2017 08:43 | Early-Bird on lse has posted his/her own research note. A fantastic read through for anyone with peer comparisons at the end. I hope he/she does not mind me posting it here; Keep in mind this is his/her own effort at a 'sum-of-the-parts' valuation. Taken with a pinch of salt. Cash | cashandcard
20/4/2017 08:29 | tournesol, Good question. I wonder if they are applying government cut on some of the assets. It is confusing. Cash | cashandcard
20/4/2017 08:21 | In fact I am struggling to understand the calculations applied in the Edison valuation table Try working across the spreadsheet and you'll see what I mean what's the difference between the columns "Net WI" and "Net"? how is the "net risked value/absolute $m" figure being calculated and why does the calculation seem to be inconsistent for different line items? There's something I'm not getting - anyone else able to help? | tournesol
20/4/2017 08:15 | Thats me out. nice 2 day trade here. Money gone into AAOG. gl all | timw3

20/4/2017 07:37 | Can anyone help me please? In the Edison Valuation in the updated report - Exhibit 1 They calculate the net risked value of each asset/element firstly as an absolute value in millions of dollars, then they convert this to GB pence/share. This is shown in the penultimate column of the valuation table. The heading of this column is shown as GBp/share 12.5% What on earth does the "12.5%" refer to? Does anyone know? Sorry if I'm being dim/slow, but it is not obvious to me……R | tournesol
19/4/2017 23:21 | cash, I've not seen SDX put any prospctive figure for oil in the current well. Presumably they have internal guesstimates, but it's a bit of a new frontier for the area. Huge bonus if it comes in, management don't look foolish if it doesn't? | thegreatgeraldo
19/4/2017 23:04 | Edison, being as conservative as they can, attribute a big zero for management's case for oil. No CoS for it, no risked value. In fairness, they did state they will review if an oil discovery was made. Also, they expect a successful well to be completed as a producer. So, subject to a successful flow testing program + completion, it's not hard to see CoS increase again from 75% towards 100%.Cash | cashandcard
19/4/2017 21:47 | Edison appear to have left their cash figures unchanged in their NAV calculations so they are based on the December cash balances plus the surplus funds raised after paying for the Circle acquisition. However we know the company had $18.3m at the end of February, which is 9.8p per share compared to the 5.1p they have included in their NAV. Adjusting for this bumps up their NAV to 80.7p. | bestace
19/4/2017 21:37 | Couldn't quite follow the TSX price tonight, until I remembered that sterling's gained a bit against the C$ this week | thegreatgeraldo
19/4/2017 21:29 | Finished slightly lower in Canada than it was at our close. Don't rush in the morning. | dsmith57
19/4/2017 20:54 | saw89 - exactly re SOU, that's one reason why I switched here where I feel there is significantly less risk | bountyhunter
19/4/2017 20:32 | ShakeyIt's 76p, I'm interested to know how these analyst come up with these numbers.Panr is not producing yet they are valued over 150m, sdx which is much better company is only valued at 110m.We are producing 4200boepd, which will be significantly increased by year end. | neo26 |
