08/9/2020 10:10 | If we look ahead to next years results a on ten times earning of £10M and circa net £30M in the bank a Mcap of £130M is justified in my opinion, near doubling of todays valuation. I have a suspicion we'll have a rotation out of tech into cyclical businesses over the next 6 months and SCS looks like a great risk vs reward play. | opaldouglas
08/9/2020 08:51 | If there is a second wave I am sure that the government will try to continue with partial lockdowns and it still means people will be spending far more time at home. It will simply extend the length of time for SCS to be getting increased orders compared to previous years.....furniture and carpets will be wearing out faster and less holidays to spend on. | davidosh
08/9/2020 08:26 | My hunch, that peeps are holding their breath about a second wave of the lergy, and another lockdown. | eggbaconandbubble
08/9/2020 07:32 | They are probably sitting on 100m cash now with a cap of 60, im not sure how this is possible in a largely profitable business during good times but when they decide to return that mountain of dosh to shareholders punters will be climbing over each other to buy at a price far greater than the current. | soleman1
08/9/2020 07:16 | Indeed. Dave dosh- you were bang on the money there! | robsy2
08/9/2020 07:16 | Excellent, not sure what people were expecting selling out the past few sessions but I see £2 getting tested this week. | soleman1
08/9/2020 07:08 | RNS. Sounds good! | eggbaconandbubble
07/9/2020 10:23 | People are spending far more time at home and in their gardens. It is likely to continue that way and certainly increase over the winter with very few taking holidays and many still working from home. Carpets and sofas will need replacing and a carpet fitter i know is flat out with work so I cannot imagine SCS being behind the curve on domestic spending. Sales were 92% up after lockdown and although I expect it will have slowed after the initial surge but surely still well up on same months in 2019? | davidosh
07/9/2020 09:32 | EI - Not sure about the much tougher Q4/Q1. I'm expecting SCS to experience a more challenging trading environment but not until vaccination is widespread, the thinking being, that folk don't have expensive foreign holidays to spend their money on until then. Some recessionary forces will no doubt hit the bottom line in the meantime of course but these will largely be masked by the change in spending habits | frazboy
03/9/2020 15:46 | It's a good question and I was thinking the same. It may be an anticipation of a much tougher Q4, Q1 2021. Dunelm sell many small items as well, so arguably a different model which thrived during lockdown on online ordering. | essentialinvestor
02/9/2020 11:32 | Both DFS and Dunelm are stating it's "Go go go for retail furnishers". So what's the problem here??? | eggbaconandbubble
25/8/2020 17:44 | I thought DFS sold a wider range of stuff than scs, maybe not? | robsy2
25/8/2020 12:52 | 'though dfs has furniture.' Meaning? | eggbaconandbubble
25/8/2020 09:41 | Good spot. They ought to be moving to the same beat though dfs has furniture. | robsy2
25/8/2020 08:24 | DFS RNS today claiming to be on a roll. Lets hope its genuine and rubs off on SCS!! | eggbaconandbubble
18/8/2020 15:46 | Thanks VT. | cousin jack
18/8/2020 15:07 | It's an illiquid small cap .. best put in a small orders at the price you want and build that way .. you tend to get skinned on large orders | velocytongo
18/8/2020 14:53 | Just looking at these as a potential buy. Can anyone familiar with the share advise if the current 10p spread is normal. A dummy trade suggests I can trade a couple of pence lower but it still seems wide in relation to the share price. | cousin jack
07/8/2020 08:40 | Anyone near to an SCS to know if the 92% lfl increase is continuing through the Summer? | davidosh
30/7/2020 08:53 | The share price move so far today sums that up! Hopefully more to come over the next few weeks!!!!! | eggbaconandbubble
30/7/2020 08:14 | Trading update:- | cwa1
20/7/2020 16:43 | We'll have to wait and see won't we. It may pause to re-test first, but I am sure all it good time. Ultimately I'd be looking for higher lows and something of a confirmed uptrend. Otherwisw we'd have o start talking about a v shape recovery which is always a bit sketchy. | thorpematt
20/7/2020 15:13 | We must be on the verge of a 'breakout' here. Aren't we? | eggbaconandbubble
14/7/2020 08:53 | Someone just paid a bit of a premium for only a handful of shares. 8019 bought at 162.37 Also, DFS announced their trading statement this morning:- ...which was met with, well, apathy from the market, the share price being up by less than 1%. | cwa1 |
