level Sadly not, I think. The tax losses are largely in Austria, as I read them, & so presumably attached to the entitities to be sold. I imagine the 'shell' would have just
- such cash as might remain ie., we don't know what the net final postion will be after clearing the intercompanies indebtedness, nor the costs of the sale that presumably will fall to the holding company.

EDIT: level, re tax losses may I modify the above. The 2010 Accounts include a note that 'The Group's unutilised tax losses at 31 December 2009 include losses of some GBP3 million arising in Austria...' My folk memory of the note led to my original post. There may well be tax losses in the UK, possibly even substantial from previous incarnations. Even if there are, however, I imagine the problem would then be the restrictions on the type of business that could use them, so narrowing the field considerably and their potential negotiable value should a sutor turn up.

Ref. post by Abrahe earlier, the final decision is some time away, given due diligence, notice of GM, etc. should the board progress the bid. 2010 accounts and any underlying business progress would be due anyway. What else could Mr.Smart say? He could hardly preempt the circular in any event.

I await the circular with interest & reserve judgement, at least till then, quite likely later.

Just a thought, and it might be important.

Scotty Group (PLC) would have say £2m in cash +- but they will also have some significant tax losses. That could be really useful to a reversing company!

PB: I did e-mail BS and asked if we may get the results sooner given that we are expected to make a decision on the future of the company by the end of March.

His reply was the standard "we will meet statutory obligations... blah blah blah..."

I did also ask him if the board have finally thrown in the towel and admitted that winning any major orders is now unlikely... The silence in his response was deafening...

sHARESHARK your comment about shares being mopped up is interesting. He would of course be an insider, and anyone acting for someone else would make them insiders.
A dangerous game and if anyone has any evidence of this they must advise the authorities IMMEDIATELY.

Euro 2.84m Purchase Order from Diamond Aircraft Industries

SCOTTY is pleased to announce that it has received a purchase order from Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH ("Diamond") for the provision of aero-certified communications equipment for five DA42 MPP aircraft to be supplied by Diamond under a contract they have recently signed with an Asian government.

The total value of the order to SCOTTY is 2.84 million Euros and the majority of the equipment is for delivery during the last quarter of 2010, with the remainder in the first quarter of 2011. A further order of approximately 0.2 million Euros, in respect of additional equipment for the same contract, is expected shortly.

The equipment to be supplied includes SCOTTY's aero-certified Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) satellite communications systems. Also included is the supply of microwave line-of-sight air to ground communications equipment, together with a central mission control station and four portable receiver stations.

SCOTTY's Chairman, Rt Hon Lord Trefgarne PC, commented:

"We are delighted to have received this purchase order from Diamond, following on from the letter of intent that we recently announced on 30 September.

"The content of the order is significant, in that it demonstrates SCOTTY's ability to supply a tailored solution to meet its customer's needs, incorporating on this occasion a combination of BLOS, microwave and ground-based control centre equipment.

"It will also demonstrate the Company's ability to turn such orders around in a relatively short timescale, with the Board expecting revenue from this contract to contribute significantly to the closing months of this financial year, as well as to the first quarter of next year"
