Big positive moves on Friday and also yesterday on FAANG-Street combined with tumbling sterling should see ScoMo through 500p in short order.

Looks like Walmart/Flipkart deal to be announced this week.

ScoMo still missing a big trick with Zillow Inc which is now at an All-Time-High and climbing rapidly. The Silicon Valley portal which becomes the GLOBAL dominant online force in REAL ESTATE will likely eventually make some of the FAANGs look like milk-teeth.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

Yes, I sold out of this too early a couple of weeks ago. Easy to lose confidence in market chop, kudos for those who ignored the noise.

Some very big positive moves yesterday on Faang-Street.

Such as Baba + 3.5% and Tesla + 3.4% amongst others.

500p looks nearer and nearer. Perhaps sooner rather than later.

Weakening sterling will certainly boost ScoMo.

Amazon.

Wow!!

After a dismal start to 2018, the markets are settling

Sterling has also weakened dramatically and rapidly.

ScoMo have started issuing equity again frequently/regularly which is historically a good sign and a reliable buy signal.

I see 500p on the horizon.

I've decided to sell out, spread and liquidity means it is always easy enough to get back in if I am wrong. Good luck all.

Yes, naturally unlisted are rightly considered a high risk investment. But there is a disparity in risk approach to their top investments such as Amazon/Alibaba where they allow portfolio holdings to balloon up to a massive 10% (or even more in the past) and the very tight restriction on holdings in unlisted which are mostly in the 0.1% to 0.4% range.

That's great news! As to the small percentage holding I guess that is down to their risk management framework. Not complaining though as I invest here for conservative gains rather than a rollercoaster ride!

WOW. WOW. WOW. - Breaking news

Flipkart sold to Walmart for $20billion being significantly higher than the c.$12 Billion valuation last year.

Great news for ScoMo who valued their 0.4% portfolio holding in Flipkart G Pref shares at GBP£26.54million as at 31/1/18.

Shame perhaps the investment wasn't significantly bolder.

Another great investment by ScoMo and yet further justification of just how right they were to dedicate an increasing part of the portfolio to Unlisted Investments in tech start-ups.

Well done.

ps.

Do they restrict their investments in individual unlisted stocks too tightly with the majority of holdings being in the 0.1 to 0.4% range?

To be honest, people have been saying Tesla will go bust for years. I've yet to see anyone get rich making that call. One day, someone might. I though the NAV might get a bigger boost from the Dropbox IPO. Perhaps we didn't hold it, or as much of it, as I had anticipated.

Tesla I think is around 8%. Good that the management team is I think they have been too blinkered on that investment.

I can see 2018 as being the year Tesla went bust. With their debt yielding nearly 7% it means equity dilution is on it's way.

Big PayDay soon for ScoMo

DROPBOX is going public and targeting a $500m fundraising.

ScoMo shows an unlisted investment in DropBox (Dropbox Inc Series B Common) which they valued on 30/11/17 in their portfolio at $24.1million.

And Another likely even bigger PayDay for Scomo with Spotify which are also gearing up to public around the same time - without a fundraise- where ScoMo show a November 2017 valuation for its Spotify investment of $44.7m - being 0.7% of ScoMo's portfolio.

Two great situations for ScoMo which add a lot of weight to their strategy of investing in early stage/unlisted companies.

I am not convinced that a £1m trade is significant for a mkt cap stock of £6.6billion.

If my maths is correct, that's just 0.015% of the stock. But good to see buying nonetheless.

ScoMo is down from around 475p to 425p or roughly 50p or some 10% in just the last couple of weeks for obvious reasons.

Still significantly up from 350p this time last year.

If you think the whip-saw volatility is coming to an end, a nice entry point. The converse is also true.

One macro supportive point is that it seems that all/most economies including USA are much stronger than at any time in the last decade.

Seems the market was overdue for a correction. Understandable.
