11/2/2022 12:44 | FYI here's a recent seminar from SDI organised by Progressive Equity Research. Nice comment from the CFO - "everything's quite buoyant at the moment". He also states that they would never have forecasts out in the market which they weren't comfortable with meeting. Applied Thermal Controls found it difficult in the pandemic - now it's doing "really well". Graticules - SDI put in the investment and its figures are now "fantastic". Astles is doing "very well". The only business still behind somewhat is Chell given its aerospace side (though this should soon recover too imo given the opening up of borders etc). Also encouraging to note that that there will be "further need in the future" for even more PCR machine cameras from Atik: | rivaldo
09/2/2022 10:07 | Good to see this news of Chell's involvement in sustainablity/energy consumption reduction: "08.02.22 Chell Instruments Prepare for Turbo Expo 2022 in the Netherlands "We’re excited to announce that Chell Instruments will be exhibiting at this year’s ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Turbo Expo Conference in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, from 13 – 17th June. We’ll be attending to showcase our latest products which help support the development of gas turbine technology. This year’s ASME Turbo Expo Conference in the Netherlands aims to accelerate the transition of the energy and propulsion sector to meet a carbon-neutral future by 2050. As the leaders in pressure and gas flow measurement and control equipment, we’re thrilled to be part of the move to reduce energy consumption from turbine technology. Here at Chell, we’re continuing to develop technology which is being used to create more sustainable practises, including the electrification of flight and more efficient gas turbines which power both travel and energy production. The 5-day conference will include hundreds of live presentations from top experts and decision-makers to discuss implementation of safe, reliable carbon neutral solutions while shaping the future of the turbomachinery industry." Also a comprehensive January '22 project update from a "busy" Monmouth Scientific: | rivaldo

17/1/2022 12:43 | Thanks for your response Rivaldo. Feel the same way. Overall very positive another 1.26 million shares have gone for 195p. On another note - I read right down to the bottom of the 7th Jan RNS to learn that SVS employs 8 staff. Blimey - a highly profitable Company for such a small staff - must be a very specialist niche sector with high profit margins. Fils | fillspectre
17/1/2022 10:46 | Institutional investors are evidently very happy to pay 195p for almost another £2.5m of shares in SDI. I'm happy for Ken and Mike to take some money off the table. Ken is in his mid-70's and was paid just £48k last year. Mike was paid only £206k including a £50k bonus, which I consider to be great value for such a dedicated CEO who's created such growth. It's also worth noting that Mike only sold enough shares to cover the tax obligations which arise IMMEDIATELY on the exercise of share options. Jon Abell is also only covering the tax payable, which is interesting considering he's leaving. So the CEO and CFO haven't actually realised any cash profit at all from these sales. The others are NEDs so hardly surprising. Fillspectre, the AR states "The exercise price of the ordinary options ranges from £0.172 to £1.040, " The overriding point here is that institutional interest and ownership is increasing. | rivaldo
16/1/2022 22:32 | DbD - yes that is what the Directors made selling the 1.26 million shares. Collectively they exercised 1,889,129 options - keeping 629,129 shares between them (Ken Ford retained 15,217, Mike Creedon 332,173, Jon Abell 271,739, David Tilston 10,000). I suppose what I was trying to say in post 1468 - is how much did the Directors pay exercising the 1,889,129 options? What do people think - Ken still retains over 1 million shares, Mike 774K and Jon 371K and they all have options yet to be exercised. Do we take it as a great sign institutions were happy to mop up 1.26 millions shares at 195p? Or are we disappointed the Directors were prepared to let go so many shares at 195p? 15/1/2022 09:12 | Anyone able to unpick how much money this might have raised for the Company? I note exercise price of LTIP options is / was £0.01 (page 35 of 2021 SDI annual report). They found a buyer(s) for the 1.26 million shares at 195p. Fils | fillspectre

07/1/2022 14:09 | Cheers Hastings, extremely helpful as usual. Further to your comment that SVS "will deliver an EBITA figure for the current year above the historic £0.7m number highlighted", I note that Finncap have forecast SVS will deliver £1.1m EBITA for the coming financial year based on their "visible strong order book". Also good to hear the comment that the wider group is also performing well. Here's a direct link (no idea why your link doesn't work since the Https is capitalised!) | rivaldo
07/1/2022 12:32 | very interesting Hastings - thx for posting. I note this snippet "Whilst the acquisition is both timely and welcome, Mike tells me that he is currently very active on assessing further potential buys and is hopeful of delivering on further deals." | alter ego
