12/3/2008 22:26 | results are months away and i expect them to have not made any profit last year ( may be close though) when they won that huge order i did wonder if the almost constant news flow would stop while they dealt with that one, and they have. they seem to have stopped reporting any usa contracts if they won them. dillution every year doesnt exactly enspire confidence in them to carry on. | motoben

25/1/2008 09:02 | thought sit had an exclusive contract for use in the usa of unisolars flexible solar panels, apparently not as this company uses them. | motoben
23/1/2008 16:39 | is this another contract that hasn't been released by sit, not sure if upc has contracts with other solar installers. January 22, 2008 Chicago, IL, USA: Jefferson Union High School District Commits to 1.7MW of PV Systems UPC Solar has reached agreement to build solar photovoltaic systems at all five high schools in the Jefferson Union High School District (JUHSD). The solar power systems represent 1,702 kW of installed capacity. "This is certainly a win for our district," asserted Michael Crilly, Superintendent, JUHSD. "We will realize savings and make a bold statement to the young people enrolled in our schools that the future is going to be different. This project is both practical and symbolic." The project will be designed, installed, owned and operated by UPC Solar under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Jefferson Union High School District. The systems will provide approximately 85% of each school's total annual electricity requirements and 100% of the most expensive "peak demand" requirements. Importantly, the projects will avoid annual greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions by 3,735,884 pounds, nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions by 1,291 pounds and sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions by 192 pounds. "Without a business model like the one offered by UPC Solar, JUHSD would not have even entertained the thought of powering the entire district with solar energy," commented Steve Fuentes, Associate Superintendent of Business Services, JUHSD. "The cost would have been completely beyond our reach." "The JUHSD administration has demonstrated significant leadership to their students, faculty and the entire Bay Area by moving forward with this important green initiative," noted Morten Sissener, President and CEO, UPC Solar. "We are pleased to enable the District to save money on electricity and improve the environment without committing any capital expenditures." | motoben

07/1/2008 16:11 | That's why some of us have been in and out of this stock for the last two years or more. | jarvis4
07/1/2008 07:46 | Having held this stock for over a year, I am excited about their prospects. If management are sorting out finances and get production/contracts into the profit-making stages, I can only see shares like these growing massively as the world looks to move away from fossils. Just an opinion of course. | bert brokers
21/12/2007 10:51 | $12m margin on 80m revenues means that sit will still make a big loss this year as they had spent more than that till the 1st half. i wonder if whoever has taken up the discounted offer has been offloading since yesterday, seems to be a constant selling in 50,000 blocks and yet the price rises, will it just be a short term blip up then cary on the downward trend? | motoben |
