what's it to you, junkie? - you're a troll and not a shareholder here. the actual value of our NPI in Barryroe is unchanged by PVR recent news. the real question is what value will it reach once they start testing again.

Seriously? I have a better question for you: What possible difference will any kind of non-cash related write-down in a non-core, totally separate asset make to this company which is cash in the bank + future loan repayments + the value of its % of OML18 with increasing production + services revenues + future growth, etc, etc., you titanic imbecile? You really think you have hold of some kind of 'gotcha' point, and all it does is cause everyone here to worry about the people running the Irish Central Bank. We really should put up a sign: You must be 'this' smart to post here....

Echo,as someone whose university lecturers included someone who subsequently became a board member of Ireland's Central Bank and later still became Governor of the Bank of Ireland, I will have to defer to your better education.

Let's try you out.
What's your estimate of the write down of SLE's $51m investment in PVR in the upcoming Interims?

Anxiety as oil prices plunge below Nigeria’s $60 per barrel budget benchmark
August 6, 2019

By Ripples Nigeria

There appears to be a brewing challenge for Nigeria, as Brent Crude on Monday slipped below its $60 per barrel budget benchmark for the 2019 appropriation bill.
The international oil benchmark, Brent, against which Nigerian crude oil is priced, dipped by $2.10 to settle at $59.79 per barrel as of 7.45pm Nigerian time.
It plunged to around $61 per barrel last Thursday from $65 on Wednesday.
President Muhammadu Buhari had in May signed Nigeria’s 2019 budget with a production target of 2.3 million bpd (including condensates) while the oil benchmark price was pegged at $60 per barrel.

Providence Resources/Lansdowne
With still no sign of the money from China, Providence and Lansdowne have little choice but to extend the backstop deadline again, here we all are assuming APEC have the moulah…
As for Providence the previously announced strategic review is now being implemented with savage cost cutting including getting rid of the technical director and his staff, support staff and downsizing the office to serviced facilities. Three NED’s are going and some advisors fees are going to go but probably not until a possible fund raise has been arranged if no money comes in viz ‘alternative financing arrangements’. BTW this alternative financing needs to be in place by the end of this month…
This ‘re-engineering process’ is to reduce the annual cost of the business by 65% from $5.3m to $1.9m and is for a world in which PVR has farmed-out the majority of its portfolio leaving little need for technical staff etc without the burden of being an operator. A nervous few days for PVR but Barryroe has only ever been walking a tightrope, now is no different.

………;……̷0;…..

could start with OF that would save the shareholders 2 mill a year and then work down the list of deadwood.

Ah, Echo.Your favorite pastime, toilet talk.

Just to lift your despond, here are my two favs from the same toilet door:

"There's no such thing as gravity, the Earth sucks".

"Oh what fun, oh what joy, I was here before Kilroy".....underneath in a different hand...
"You must be stupid, you must be mental, Kilroy was here but had no pencil."

09:53 I wonder if TOSCA wants to fund the new pipeline ? 200 mill plus, wouldn't be anymore dodgy than their current investment in Nigeria.

Yes, PVR rns looks less like downsizing, more like folding the the tent. All technical staff gone or going.
