20/5/2007 07:53 | i'm either foolish or brave bec i'm still buying could be a two bagger minimum by oct. | adejuk
18/5/2007 15:32 | Here's some good stuff while we're waiting: | jonwig
18/5/2007 15:16 | A buyer paid 6.15p on PLUS at lunchtime (quote 5.25-6.0) - unless it was a seller from earlier ... I don't know what the trade reporting rules are over there. EDIT: max 120 min delay - see page 33 of the rules: The trades certainly aren't going all one way, which is reassuring. The NAV was reported as 9.7p as recently as 31 Dec - so let's say 9.4p allowing for the drop since in CMF. If trading is particularly weak on the Consulting side, they should really have said something, in conjunction with the share price fall. Whilst I don't feel brave (or foolhardy) enough to add at the moment, any positive news might, if I'm quick enough, enable me to collect some more. | jonwig
18/5/2007 15:01 | In short, no. An astonishingly precipitous and rapid fall for no - publicly available - reason, and soon after a director purchase (non-exec, admittedly). Without having any indication of what is causing it, I see no way to predict how long and how low it will go. | elgordo
18/5/2007 14:54 | i'm still chasing it down but does ne1 have a clue what this is about? | adejuk
12/5/2007 11:34 | adejuk - there's been no volume to speak of for the past month, so best not to speculate as to the cause. | jonwig
11/5/2007 06:00 | bewildering fall good opportunity for me - but i've been wrong before so wtfdik? | adejuk
08/5/2007 14:51 | SGA's holding of 1.692m shares in CMF helped it lose £0.6m on the value of its holdings last year. (Roughly 200 down to 165) In the year to date, CMF has lost a further 30p (165 down to 135) which equates to a loss of £0.5m (or 0.24p/sh) for SGA. SGA are, technically, no longer locked-in to CMF, but I'd think they are as little inclined to sell theirs as I am mine. | jonwig
08/5/2007 05:43 | actually jon, long term i expect better. the technology is revolutionary and will save lives as well as £billions. | adejuk
07/5/2007 15:52 | If the SGA share price is to reach 20p solely on the basis of Sphere Medical valuation we have: Currently: 11% of Sph valued at £1.5m, SGA share price = 6.9p, SGA MCap = £14.9m. So SGA priced at 20p, ie. MCap = £43m gives uplift = £28m, so whole of Sph valued at £270m. Is that what you're expecting, adejuk? Whilst I believe SGA to be quite undervalued at these levels, I'm not optimistic enough to embrace your valuation of Sph just yet! BTW, you talk of "Sphere float" and of "Bill & Trade sale". Which is it to be? In a buoyant market, an IPO would be preferable, but who knows, by September? | jonwig
07/5/2007 10:41 | martin foster knows what he is doing. | adejuk
07/5/2007 10:40 | post sphere float my y/e target is 20p. i think that is conservative if they can get the kind of distribution partners they are looking for and negotiations are progressing well at the moment. | adejuk
06/5/2007 16:23 | sphere is a bill £ trade sale prospect | adejuk
05/5/2007 09:06 | Sphere re-registered as a PLC on 10 November 2006. This is a usual step ahead of floatation, I understand. There's also a brief (6 minute) CNBC News Report video from February. Towards the end quite a bit of promotional speak about the business plan and executive team: | jonwig
02/5/2007 09:56 | sept is the plan. | adejuk
02/5/2007 09:55 | it's a fact jon, as much as anything ever can be in this game | adejuk
02/5/2007 09:53 | adejuk - I do hope you're right!! BTW, check the PlusMarkets trades (link in the header) - it might be there. There's a couple of trades today on Plus. | jonwig
02/5/2007 09:48 | i bought this am - not showing seems like a bloody steal with sphere float only a few months away. | adejuk
02/5/2007 08:13 | Thanks, ElGordo. That's the kind of article which makes me want to add to my SGA. is there a cure? | jonwig
01/5/2007 19:08 | Wide-ranging (eclectic, even) article on Sagentia in today's Cambridge Evening News. Unless the revelation that "most lunchtimes he [Dan Flicos] can be spotted in his running shorts" is the sort of thing that helps you understand their business, the most interesting content is at the end, where there is some information on current projects - the micro-finance project looks the most promising to me, as this is a huge growth market in many developing economies. Edit: One other interesting comment is the following: "Future growth should be helped by an increasing move towards risk-sharing with clients." Whilst this could provide more potential upside in the long term, it will presumably depress consulting revenues now, so I hope this isn't done at the expense of a return to profitable trading... | elgordo
30/4/2007 06:48 | Zinwave gets a mention on page 9, and presumably the stake has now a pretty low valuation. SGA/GEN didn't participate in the last funding round (Feb 2005). Looking at the Zinwave website, though, the 'News' section has some very recent stuff, and it seems they might be involved with opening up the London Underground to mobile phone access, which I read about last year. An article here (dated 29 March 2007) suggests there might be something in this one: Muscagen doesn't seem to have been mentioned by GEN/SGA since 2004. Its website has the appearance of a draft which was never developed. The whole tone of the Sagentia AR is one of optimism, both for the Consulting business and mouthwatering prospects in some of the investee companies. That's why I bought into this, but I'm hard-nosed enough to keep my hopes subdued for the present! | jonwig
29/4/2007 21:05 | Hi back. Did you notice the absence of mention of Zinwave and Muscagen in the list of holdings? I can't figure out from the way it's presented whether this is simply because they are so small (by value), or that they no longer have an interest in them... | elgordo
29/4/2007 18:06 | Hi - have just downloaded it, thanks. | jonwig |
