06/12/2006 10:22 | Results on 12 Dec. The share overhang has cleared so nearly every buy (small or not) now appears to nudge up the price. That results are above expectations is already known. I look forward to more news about this potentially lucrative venture: "RWS Group opens IP Office in Beijing Due to the increasing importance of Intellectual Property protection in China , leading IP translation and information company RWS Group has opened an office in Beijing and establishing a wholly-owned Chinese subsidiary company. Headed by former UK and Chinese patent attorney Weimin Zhang, this new facility enables RWS to offer companies around the world a cost-effective, local resource for patent translations, filing and searching. Patent translations for filing purposes RWS can provide expert Chinese patent translations in a format ready for filing at the Chinese Patent Office at highly competitive rates, with no added typing fees. Translations are prepared by qualified, subject-specialists in China . If required, they can also arrange filing through their associate Chinese patent agents at discounted costs. Patent information RWS' extensive internal patent database collections together with their Beijing office and network of local associates also enables them to provide clients with detailed Chinese patent information. Services include searches, watches, file inspections and status reports." | orange1
10/10/2006 22:19 | i hi rated this share a buy.the price was hanging about the 300p area because there was no news but now there is some news this area will surely be broken. Seat back and relax. Its a small stock, but it pays dividend and has stable earnings with a lot of cash in hand. | latinlink
09/10/2006 10:07 | Thanks, mwd. I like the look of MUR too. In the meantime, fantastic trading statement from RWS today As I say, seems to be right off most people's radar screens but that doesn't bother me. I'm a buy-and-hold merchant. So long as the fundamentals keep going in the right direction, the share price will surely follow in due course. Regards, Ian | jeffian
06/10/2006 10:54 | jeffian, I wasn't aware of this company until you pointed it out on the PRM thread. I was recently begining to come to the conclusion that it might be better to invest in companies which support the IP industry rather than in the actual IP itself. In this vein the company I had my eyes on was Murgitroyd which is basically a patent agent. EPIC:MUR. Certainly seems like a growth area? | maxwellsdemon
18/9/2006 15:58 | OK, I will. Thank you. | jeffian
18/9/2006 12:52 | Ian The budgie will have to wait. Results are due soon and I am expecting an announcement that the number of new licences in the last 6 months will be ... er, nil. And yet, given the director buying of late I am not giving up all hope. A reverse takeover maybe? Meanwhile, Tikit is in the same kind of professional services league as RWS - well worth a look. | orange1
18/9/2006 12:26 | O1, my man, good to see you! You still lining the budgie's cage with your CLC certificates? This one looks more sensible all round, I think. Regards, Ian | jeffian
18/9/2006 12:23 | P.S. Given your list of boxes, may I be so bold as to recommend Tikit to you? | orange1
18/9/2006 12:21 | Ian One point you overlooked in your research though is that I am an existing shareholder. Kiss of death I'm afraid. LOL! O1 | orange1
18/9/2006 12:08 | I agree with you, ben, that these are a 'lock away' sort of share. I've been watching them for some time and would love to get in cheaper but with a trading statement due early Oct and results likely to be good again, I've decided to hop aboard. Maybe a tad expensive at around 17x this year's expected earnings, but aren't good growth companies always 'expensive'?! Not expecting short-term fireworks but with a sound balance sheet, good cashflow, growing eps and divi it ticks all the right boxes for me and as long as they go on doing that, the share price will follow in due course IMHO. Regards, Ian | jeffian
18/4/2006 10:36 | I'm 90% convinced that these are a lock away no brainer and have bought a few for the management's pension. If they could just stabilise above £3.00 I would worry less. | ben gunn
19/1/2006 02:21 | A very good hold - a buy ysterday 4 me. | jimcocallis
05/1/2006 08:07 | Did the right think holding these £3 here we come | dally4
10/10/2005 14:03 | Lovely trading statement out. RWS Holdings plc (RWS), Europe's leading provider of intellectual property support services (patent translations and technical searches) and technical translations, today provides an update prior to entering into the close period for the Company's results for the year ended 30 September 2005, which are to be published on 15 December 2005. Revenue and profit before tax are expected to be at the top end of the range of market expectations and to achieve new record levels. Margins have been maintained with solid growth in the core translations activities and margin improvement in the patent search activities, underpinned by PatBase subscriptions. The February 2005 acquisition - Eclipse Translations - has fulfilled our expectations and been successfully integrated. The Japanese and German offices have delivered excellent growth in revenue and profit. Current activity levels, major client wins and worldwide growth in patent applications underpin the Company's confidence that progress will continue in 2005/06. RWS' focus is upon high quality translations and searches to ensure maximum protection for its clients' intellectual property. It continues to evaluate acquisition opportunities both within the intellectual property space and in high quality translation activities. RWS enjoys an enviably strong balance sheet with net cash of £12 million and expects to increase its final dividend. With the rapidly growing involvement of our major multinational clients in China, RWS will be established in Beijing later this month. Andrew Brode, Executive Chairman, commented: 'I am pleased to see RWS enhancing its market leading positions within its chosen niche activities and delivering record results. The new initiative in China will underline our commitment to client service.' | egoi

05/7/2005 14:33 | Patty good to hear someone else holds these! I am a great believer in running winners and I think these are good for a lot more. Something like 19 institutions on board and I am told that one was considering selling pre-interims but after talking to the company ended up buying more. I think we could easily see 50% more over the next twelve months. | egoi
05/7/2005 14:16 | Thanks for that, Ive held for some time and was thinking of taking profit but will hold and hopefully this will only go one way | patty4
05/7/2005 14:08 | Yes, nothing to do with the stupid posts in this thread either!
