PE of sub 17, 35% of the business in oil services area (cf. petrofac PE of 25). Looks like the metrics on the water and property business have improved also. Bought a few.

Good news. Sustained buying on the back of the trading statement which should move the share price towards £2

Thanks for that Dull Gull. I also continue to hold. Latest analysts' recommendation is 5 as a buy, 2 outperform 1 to hold. I'd like to see an uplift in the dividend next time.

The shares are likely to be buoyant leading up to the results. Whether or not they stay buoyant afterwards will depend on the sort of eps growth they turn in.
The accounting changes will help the headline figure but it's like-on-like growth that counts. It also seems to me that the board place too much emphasis on
revenue growth. It would be nice, for once, to be surprised by some very strong earnings growth.
So that's the upside view.
The downside looks limited. In the current market, the shares are starting to look cheap, with several service companies enjoying higher ratings
- even with less reliable long-term growth than RPS. The shares may be about 50% higher than they were at their nadir but the long term PE graph shows this being largely soaked up by continuing earnings growth:

Maybe a slightly higher rating is due, and could follow a decent set of FY results.

I continue to hold.

Yes. Can't understand why smaller investors appear to be shy of this one. Good solid company and share price should move higher and hold above 170p early 2006

Colombia Wanger taken a 3.46% stake in RPS.

This is very good news because Colmbia Wanger specialises in small and mid cap equity investments. CWAM is one of the leading global equity managers in the USA.

I like the strategy being adopted by the board and don't agree the business is being degraded. I'm not too happy with the current share price but most analysts have had and are currently giving RPS a buy rating. One to lock away for the medium term at least

Strange or should I say now a common market reaction to interim increased profit and positive co. statement!Good time to add at this level.

Personally I'll be more than happy if the share price has support at the 180p level
- this was my target price in January 05. My revised target price is now 215p
by end of June 06
