"It is a deeply frustrating market for all of us but please be assured that we are currently steering a positive course." As outlined in the Interim Report, the Board still believes the current sector environment provides an opportunity to acquire high quality assets in well-established producing basins. We hope to be able to update the market on such opportunities in Q1 2016. We are very pleased to have received the permits for the Tango project and we are considering our options to be able to commence drilling on that project as soon as possible. 29/3/2016 15:18 | Oil prices fell for a fifth straight session Tuesday on concerns that the global market remains too oversupplied to support prices near $40 a barrel. Prices have rallied sharply in recent weeks on expectations that major oil producers would agree to freeze production and U.S. oil production would start dropping more quickly due to spending cuts. But some analysts and traders warned that the price gains were unsustainable because the global crude market remains oversupplied, with storage facilities close to full around the world. "Oil market participants have shifted their focus to the reality of the current ongoing oversupplied oil situation," said Dominick Chirichella, analyst at the Energy Management Institute, in a note. U.S. crude inventories stand at the highest level in more than 80 years, and stockpiles in the key storage hub of Cushing, Okla., are near full capacity. Government inventory data for the week ended March 25 is due Wednesday. Light, sweet crude for May delivery recently fell 97 cents, or 2.5%, to $38.42 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent, the global benchmark, fell 97 cents, or 2.4%, to $39.30 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. Traders are also waiting on a speech later Tuesday by Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen, which could provide clues on the future course of U.S. interest-rate increases. The news could move the dollar, which sometimes inversely correlates with crude-oil prices. R H M | judijudi | |
