31/1/2011 16:20 | Hmm - unauthorised payments by the Chairman not previously disclosed - suggests cashflow problems of some shape or form. Kinda mad that this company, which should be at a real sweet spot right now for solar panels, finds itself in such difficulty. With 25 year RPI tariffs linked from solar panel generation, it should be turning away work right now. Hope this doesn't affect the bank view of the Company as a going concern. | mdchand

12/1/2011 11:26 | Hi all. I see the regular pre-results wetting of knickers has begun. For supposedly sophisticated investors, we do make pretty patterns, don't we. I saw this article on the Solar Power Portal, and thought it interesting. Anybody with 23 million quid burning a hole in their pockets, itching to chuck it at solar power, is most welcome. There has to be a chance Romag could see some of it. "Social housing body, the Peabody Trust, has allocated £23 million to spend on installing solar panels on its London-based housing. The move, which is one of the most generous schemes to be carried out by a social housing provider, is aimed at making Peabody a carbon neutral business by 2020. While the company has gathered the funds to fit the photovoltaic panels to existing housing blocks, it is currently looking for a contractor to carry out the work. The company has given interested parties until January 21 to obtain further details. The installation programme is expected to run for approximately 18 months, however Peabody is aiming to complete the substantial part of the job completed by April next year." | floppyhat
09/12/2010 10:21 | Bit of a PR disaster for the supplier, isn't it? If there are plenty of other options for companies like Romag to choose from, why choose a supplier who could cause problems for you on a whim? Same principle when choosing a puppy; you go for the one that licks your hand, not the one that bites you on the ass. | floppyhat
09/12/2010 08:53 | There are more potential negatives than positives in this particular scenario. Also another piece of "bad news" that emanated from them this year. This could have some further repercussions going forward ! | masurenguy
09/12/2010 08:12 | Suppose it's to say given that we don't know which supplier the dispute is with. BP, E-Ton Solar, PV Crystalox or Q Cells are the likely candidates. If it's E-Ton in Taiwan then that could complicate it? | cbgb
08/12/2010 08:54 | Yeah, but when? Whose legal system are we dealing with? | floppyhat
07/12/2010 17:50 | Well it looks to me as though they have a pretty much open and shut case for getting the dosh back and some. | cbgb
02/12/2010 12:39 | I read the Glastonbury set up was £500,000 with £50k from Meavis and the rest on ban finance. Expected to be paid down in 10 years. | cbgb
12/11/2010 08:39 | Hi Davius, will look in on your PV thread, interesting to have a cost figure for the Romag panels, good luck with your project. I think we're seeing PV sales beginning to take off now with early adopters setting the pace. Have spent a fair bit of time in Austria over the last few years - PV has become prolific there on the back of FIT encouragement, I hope we see similar take up here. | cbgb
11/11/2010 19:11 | Were you folks aware that the Glastonbury set up uses Romag panels? All 1116 of them. I just had a PV system installed this week, 14 Romag panels. The company I used have just switched to Romag from a German manufacturer. For anyone interested in PV generally, I've set up a thread, use PV at the epic. (Edit: I see that link from CBGB does mention that the panels are Romag, that must have been a fair sized order, my installers suggested they were £400 a go) | davius

28/10/2010 12:03 | Thanks for that 9degrees. I'm surprised the jeopardy Romag were in, if the FIT was to be meddled with, didn't cause a bigger price dip. Investors have panicked for less, after all. Perhaps they were all oblivious. Anyway, here's a glimpse into Britains future, which will be a nice problem to have in my view, because we'll all be millionaires when it arrives. | floppyhat |
