15/12/2009 10:52 | I think this kind of reporting will hit it in the short term: From the Wall Street Journal: LONDON (Dow Jones)--Glass composites maker Romag Holdings PLC (ROM.LN) Tuesday said it expects a boost to fiscal 2011 earnings from new deals for solar panels with building materials group Kingspan Group PLC (KSP.DB) and Centrica PLC's (CNA.LN) British ... I think people were expecting an impact well before 2011. | louisr2
15/12/2009 10:26 | Could this give a boost to next set of results? "rise in inventories during the year to GBP13.7m (2008 GBP8.0m). Unlike some companies in the PV market, Romag does not consider it necessary to reduce inventories "at any price" when it believes that profitable opportunities to dispose of product are starting to emerge. Indeed the directors do expect inventories to return to more normal levels over the course of 2010. " | garth
15/12/2009 10:02 | Not looking good in the short term so I'm out. Fortunately managed to exit at 53p before the Bid dropped to 50p. Good luck to remaing holders. | masurenguy
15/12/2009 07:32 | Prelims out. Better than I expected and some good news about British Gas & Kingspan: "We are close to finalising a three year framework agreement with British Gas Trading (a division of Centrica plc) for the supply of certain PowerGlaz products throughout the UK and, in addition, a memorandum of understanding has been signed for British Gas to distribute and install PowerPark in the UK on an exclusive basis. We are particularly pleased to announce that we have also entered into a mutually exclusive, five-year trading arrangement with Kingspan Limited (a subsidiary of Kingspan Group plc) to supply custom-designed PowerGlaz products for use in their projects. Kingspan are global leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of sustainable, high performance, insulated roof, wall and façade panel systems." "Outlook The recent recovery in PV demand, combined with the stabilisation in prices and the introduction of the feed-in tariff in the UK market, provides optimism for the future of the PV market. The new products developed by Romag and the agreements with Kingspan and British Gas lead the directors to believe that Romag is well positioned to take advantage of this recovery." | louisr2
11/12/2009 11:42 | Government has "significantly under-estimated" solar PV Friday 11 December 2009 Extract: "Kingspan believes that the government has significantly under-estimated the scope of the UK market for Building Integrated Photovoltaic systems (BIPVs) in non-domestic buildings and estimates that if it supported BIPV use to its full extent between 2010 and 2025, the market would be worth £24.1bn in the UK alone - creating 5,865GHh of renewable energy for the UK each year." -------------------- Green enterprises energised Dec 10 2009 by Chris Knox, The Journal Extract: "The measures will be welcomed by companies such as Nissan and Tanfield, that have led the way in putting electric vehicle manufacture at the top of the region's agenda for recovery, as well as renewables firms, such as Romag, which is currently developing a series of charging 'canopies' to be installed across the North East. Romag chief executive Lyn Miles said: "It is fantastic news that the Government is still pushing electrical vehicles."" | louisr2
01/12/2009 08:36 | Mortgaged solar panels? Kind of makes sense of the 'worlds biggest solar installation' plan. | cbgb
30/11/2009 22:35 | Anyone see Jim Mellon on Panorama proclaiming solar power to be where he will make his next multiple millions. Interesting but dated article from the Times: "...He puts his money where his mouth is, too. He believes so strongly in solar power - it will, he argues, be "bigger than the internet within the next five years" - has driven him to set up his own industrial company, Emerging Metals, which he will be floating on the London Stock Exchange's junior Alternative Investment Market within the next three months. The company specialises in metals used in the next generation of solar panels. "Solar is genuinely clean - it ticks all sorts of zeitgeist boxes. Within five years, solar power will be as cheap as oil and gas without the subsidy." | louisr2
28/11/2009 11:24 | Good to see more PR / marketing: | cbgb
28/11/2009 10:56 | The above article is really interesting and confirms again the potential for increased demand for PV both domestically and commercially following the introduction of the feed in tarriff (FIT) next April. The PV Solar training and business centre (a UK first) mentioned in the article that OneNE have partly invested in will be situated at Romag's facilities. I don't feel investors quite realise the importance of this as not only will it be a generator of revenue for Romag but think of all the free PR for Romag. Every roofer, electrician, installer, architect, developer and planner that uses the centre will by default get exposure to Romag's PV capabilities in PV. | steved
