Agreed. I am mostly in AIM shares so avoid using stop losses. You don't get stopped out but makes for nervy days when offline.

I just bought into this about a week ago. The market cap of this ETF is so small that I suspect market makers saw your stop loss order and purposely dropped the price in order to trigger your stop loss and get hold of your shares on the cheap. I think you were swindled. This is unlikely to happen with stop losses on shares of large companies, but spreadbetters do it to their clients even for large company shares.

Hello ADVFN members,

I just recently set up a stop loss position FLWG yesterday.

I had this share for several months and in profit and I thought it was time to put a stop loss in.

My idea was to move the stop as the share price continue to rise upwards like a trailing stop.

Today during the times of 1pm to 2pm, the share price dropped quite dramatically triggering my stop loss.

Then the share price went back upwards dramatically. You will see the chart on Hargreaves Lansdown website.

I tried to see there any news about this incident but so far I can't find the reason to why that is the case.

Looking at the share previous chart history and as far as I can tell it never happen like that before like today.

I was wondering if any ADVFN members would know the reason/shed some light to why a share would do that?

Thank you.
