18/3/2008 10:35 | The institutions who have commited funds at 6p are presumably happy at that figure and expect to make a profit . others will not buy until the deal is actually complete . Some funds cannot buy into companies with m/caps under a certain figure [that will change after the deal] I am still not 100% convinced but heh this is a gambling game to me ,so no fun if everything is cut and dried . | h d shoring
18/3/2008 10:26 | Also remember reading several posts to the effect than when this is relisted it would soar to 9p. It obviously hasnt, so are there any reasons why?. | regandjess

18/3/2008 09:56 | There has to more to this than meets the eye, Is there really this amount of gold available here or is it going to be more difficult to get out than we have been led to believe. The placing price of 6p looks way too expensive now.I know people talk about "tree shakes" and all that, but the shares are still there to be bought and if it is a real bargain why would the MMs give this opportunity to make easy money, after they are not well known for their generosity?.Cant help thinking theres something here we dont know about. | regandjess

17/3/2008 10:53 | Vatukoula mine buyout imminent 17 MAR 2008 "Once the acquisition is completed, which River Diamonds hopes will be as soon as April 1, the company will focus on returning Vatukoula to profitability, and on exploring the area around the mine. "The directors believe that the operating losses of the last three years can be attributed to a combination of a lower prevailing gold prices compared to the current gold price and high operating and administrative costs," River Diamonds said on Thursday. "The acquisition of the Vatukuola Mine provides River Diamonds with the opportunity to bring this historic gold mine back to profitability at a time of high prevailing gold prices. "We believe this will bring benefits not only to River Diamonds' shareholders, but also to the Fiji Government, the employees at the mine and the people of Fiji," said River Diamonds chairperson Colin Orr-Ewing. The company also announced that non-executive director David Lenigas would take on an executive role on the company's board, and would advise the firm on technical and operational matters relating to Vatukoula. Lenigas was formerly senior mining engineer at Emperor Gold Mines, the DRDGold subsidiary which owned Vatukoula before selling the mine to Westech." | rokkie

17/3/2008 09:42 | well i've picked up a small amount at 3.9. The market looks wobbly and people are prefering cash. remember people were picking these up at less than 1.5p 3 months ago so bound to be some profit taking. The price is now lower than it was pre suspension when the full picture wasn't know. | rokkie |
