Nakama Group plc, the AIM quoted recruitment consultancy working across the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia providing staff for the web, interactive, digital media, IT and business change sectors, announces that Kerri Sayers, Chief Operating Officer, has decided to leave the Group after 21 years and will step down from the Board at the end of the month. Angus Watson, who was recently appointed a Non-Executive Director of the Group (01.09.15), has agreed to step up into the executive role of Chief Financial Officer.
Angus has extensive experience in both the technology and recruitment sectors and has held senior and board positions at a number of private and AIM listed companies. Previously, he was Group Finance Director at First Point Group Limited, a global telecoms recruitment business and prior to that, he was Finance Director of AIM listed Cornwell Management Consultants plc, which was acquired by Serco Group plc. He trained as a chartered accountant at Grant Thornton in London.
Commenting, Ken Ford, Non-executive Chairman said:
"I and all at Nakama are very sad to see Kerri step down as COO and leave the group after a great many years of loyal service to firstly Highams and then Nakama. On behalf of the Company and the rest of the Board, I would like to thank her for her tremendous contribution over the years, which has been invaluable in helping the Group to grow and succeed and I know all at Nakama will wish her a very happy and well-deserved break.
I am delighted that Angus has agreed to move into an executive role as CFO for the Group. He brings with him substantial board and sector experience and I look forward to Nakama benefitting from his valuable perspective and insight".
