04/3/2009 16:30 | Crude has been looking for an excuse to go higher for some time. Demand in the US has stabilised somewhat and the crude inventory glut at a major import terminus has eased marginally. Add the recent OPEC cuts into the mix and you have a market where the fundamentals are starting to encourage the bulls. However every attempt to rally recently has been throttled by poor economic data and slumping stock markets. The excuse? China looks set to announce another stimulus package tomorrow. Of course the likely impact on demand is probably marginal. China is facing a catastrophic economic meltdown. No amount of infrastructure building will get Western buyers to spend more on Chinese manufactured tat. But the commodity bulls are desperate to get the "super cycle" going again. So there's plenty of opportunity here for a substantial bear market rally. How long or how high? No idea. Whatever happens next the worst is still to come. | ad1967mc
04/3/2009 16:15 | Someone mentioned Rio a while back - not a bad day there. AD, busman's holiday here, but what do you think of the oil price jump today? | mangotude
04/3/2009 12:35 | bullet8, market is saying that it is unlikely it seems ! But only the insiders really know . | arja
04/3/2009 09:55 | AQP price today suggests take-out at 59p. The price has changed only by 10% since the provisional announcement whicn is nothing in the current market I expect this to go through and have 1 AQP share for every one of my 2.75 RDG. BB sentiment won't change the deal, uncovering nasties during due diligence will IMHO | silverfern
04/3/2009 09:45 | it may go through, then again at todays price do we want it to? | johnmp
04/3/2009 09:35 | THOUGHTS ON THIS DEAL GOING THROUGH ANYONE? | bullet8
03/3/2009 17:55 | Metal Man, I wouldn't worry about maestro too much; he tends not to use actual money when he invests. | mangotude
03/3/2009 17:42 | I think you have to be careful which banks you buy at present, it ain't pretty out there. | the metal man
03/3/2009 17:40 | actually i sold out at 44p and bought the banks at their lows today...will return at 35p | septemberclues
03/3/2009 16:34 | Maestro is just clueless, whereas you're becoming just generally smug and unpleasant. | mangotude

27/2/2009 10:20 | Unfortunately septemberclues arithmetic is as unreliable as his bid rumours. Deal is worth 64p at present not 75p. APQ would need to be at 206p to get 75p. | clive1
27/2/2009 09:59 | i make it 75p... aqp now 178p | septemberclues
27/2/2009 09:54 | RDG now worth 64p if deal goes thru, which looking at AQP this am, looks promising. | tj222
27/2/2009 09:07 | foxy, hope we can rely on your usual signal - prices bid 45p offer 46p | giant steps
27/2/2009 08:55 | Nice to see some interest this morning. Regards. | rafboy
26/2/2009 21:08 | anyone notice the surge in Aquarius's shareprice last hour... 173p finish...luvely jubbly | septemberclues
26/2/2009 16:46 | That's a long way off just yet. It is up to individuals to make the best of the daily fluctuations until then. | the metal man
26/2/2009 16:04 | RDG now looking very cheap against the rising AQP share price if the deal goes through. Regards. | rafboy
26/2/2009 15:57 | How to act on a rumour fdrom a trusted source: don't tell complete strangers about it, but perform a risk analysis, act on it and make a load of money on the quiet and thank your source. Or, post it on the AQP and RDG BBs. NIce bit of light relief anyway | silverfern |
