Wonder if the thread author ever looks in. The text at the top could really do with an update.

I regard Rialto as a special situation and have continued to accumulate. In seeing it as a special situation, by definition I have taken a contrary view. I see the value destruction by former bad management, but I also see that it has created a buying opportunity. I see the big impairment charge, but I also see it as a current manifestation of old news. Some see it as money lost, I see it as money spent on Gazelle appraisal which is cost recoverable giving Rialto a significant negative EV at the current share price. Quoting key item 3 in the MOU RNS:
"Substantially all petroleum costs incurred to-date by Rialto on block CI-202 will be carried over for recovery in the new PSC."

Hi Dr Jekyll, Up to date summery - yes, but not to hand, away. (currently reading on an iPad)What you described with Central Africa, I did countless times before 2005. I lost a far chunk and also cashed-in on a fair chunk too but the losing-out was always on the greater side. Missed opportunities. I changed my strategy. Research, research and more research...then pile in. So far, one has failed me (ZATT, now defunct) and one has part-failed on this strategy and that is CDC. With an average of 6p, am losing a fair bit on paper with CDC ATM but having added on every opportunity at 2.4-2.6p, can still see a future there, (Cash in bank alone worth over 4p, so worse case, I'll break even if they loose their assets, which I doubt based on today's RNS). By the way, that is not a tip to invest there...CDC is NOT for widows n Orphans, or any sane individual anymore...lol. Lot more less riskier shares out there. Two lines in my email signature constantly remind me of those pre-2005 investing days...they are:"If you don't take the risk, you'll never know!"And ... More importantly..."If you are not prepared to see your well-chosen and well-researched investments temporarily lose 50% of their value due to market irrationality, you are not psychologically suited to invest in the stock-market."Do your research, then invest here or in any other place. Don't do it on anyone else's say so, even me.Good Luck,Duxy786

Dr Jekyll
I have read up on the company & to me is a recovery play. I don't have a updated summary. Though it had bad times, but the dead wood has been ripped out and they are making good again.

RIA, probably won't interest too many people as this won't be fast multi bagger, but could provide a bag in a short time.

I for one will be buying when I can over time.

Your posts, duxy and nesty struck a chord with me. I once had 100,000 Central African Mining shares and had I held until they reached 1.00 I wouldn't be sitting here today :). RIA looks like a potentially similar share and I am seriously considering an investment when I have enough funds available. Do either of you have an up to date summary of this company which you can post on here? I have researched the website and have been reading the thread on and off. Please don't go to any trouble but I know some investors can produce such valuable info. as they are more computer literate than I am as well as being far more knowledgeable about the company.

Conf call very positive. Looks like next 3 month, lots of news and next 14 months company changing news. Can't see these at 1.5 in 15 month...won't speculate the price but will be adding now n much larger quantities as funds permit.

Nesty,Stick to thay strategy regardless of what some of the low life on these boards gotta say about your well researched investments. Remember that you dont risk too much in one stock in that, I mean, risk no more than you can afford to loose in one swift go. Then buy on any low in small amounts as and when cash permits...more importantly, hold and when it gets itch, close the screen..n hold!Back in 05 I bought LOQ....today it it regarded as the top 3 investments in the last 10 years. I chose not to listen to anyone on that board back then and stopped reading it altogether when the derampers moved in. Best move I have made in 10+ years investing in AIM.That is now my strategy n I hold over 20 AIM shares in significant quantities. Some of the loosers on these boards are paid derampers...but most are just loosers with an axe to grind with the BOD because, apparently, 'they lost them money'. The BOD is not forcing anyone to invest....lolDuxy

In time I think if you let this run then the rewards will be quite high. This time last year RIA was 10p. If the new board do things right and get the ship sailing steady. I can see no reason why this won't make 10p again in time.

If they strike something the rewards could be life changing. This is defo a share you just try and accumulate and hopefully wait for the rewards, but you will have to wait, it won't be overnight and that is something people are not prepared to do nowadays in AIM.

In 2008 I had a shed load of MONI. I think I had near 500,000 at one point. I bought at 5p then sold at 10p etc. Though same old adage I got bored and sold & chased other stock, which turned out not as profitable, as if I just kept holding MONI throughout as my investment would be worth circa £300,000 now!

I am applying that attitude here trying to accumulate a fair few here then hopefully be rewarded in 2014/5.

Hi GWR7,

Just had your entry - as explained in my email, it does need to be LSE listed, primarily because of the viewer base. However, if you do get chosen, I will review the LSE company of your choice and do a quick analysis of PV that I can email to you - hope that helps!

Rob did agree that he would be happy to do a Q&A but didn't get back to me. May have been because he was busy, but even so, when you say are you going to do something, you should do it or at least say that you've been busy!

Anyway, the progress here is positive and the chart remains bullish. I'll email you the stats.

SOS 100 - I don't think he (Treacle) allowed to give out Level2 updates as they try to entice people to pay for Level2.
