Could be an interesting day. China down 4.4% and all other Asian markets down over 2%. Futures has Dow down 240 points already and the FTSE currently stands at opening 180 points down. Let's hold onto our hats!!

Just back from spain, bloody hot.

Hope we don`t get any problems with payments from the network rail (frameworks etc,) with the problems network are having. ? I`d imagine not, with being fixed/set contracts.

Anyway this looks fantastic news. (a whopping contract)

Hartlepool firm Seymour (Civil Engineering Contactors) wins a share of a £247m contract deal.

They were picking stock up at 310p when the bid was only at 308p so my guess is they are all sells. Buys were going thru at near offer price.

still, held up well. Might be a buyer around?

yes....and against the backdrop of a negative day/week for markets in general.A curious situation but at least we ended up blue, with the mark up to 310 on the bid just prior to the sells being reported? Possibly late reports from earlier in the day and at the then mid price perhaps?Let's see what happens next.

Blimey, lots of selling in the last half hour and no affect on level 2?

I don't get your point about XD. The divedend has already been assigned as of 6th June but doesn't get paid to 6th July. Usually, shares drop on the day of the assignment and not the date of it been paid to you.

.....amendment to an earlier post....back from xd the week after next, NOT next week.Accordingly it's encouraging to see blue at this time, and a nice 25k buy go through.

Even if a large holder was adding, it's only reportable if it goes through a percentage point. So a buy of 0.25% of the shares in issue makes a report necessary if the purchaser started on 2.75% to just under 3% of the shares (since they'll go through 3% as a result of the buy), or on 3.75% to just under 4% (since they'll go through 4%), or on 4.75% to just under 5%, etc.

But it won't make a report necessary if they started on 3% to just under 3.75%, or on 4% to just under 4.75%, or on 5% to just under 5.75%, etc. I.e. even if you're right and it is a large holder adding, there's a good chance that they don't need to report the trade.

If they keep buying in similar quantities, they will of course eventually go through a percentage point and have to report - but only about one in four such purchases will be reportable.

For completeness, I should say that those are the rules that apply to companies that are not in a takeover period under the Takeover Code. For companies that are in such a period, there are much tighter reporting requirements: anyone who has over 1% of the shares has to report every trade. But that doesn't currently apply to Renew.

Agreed graham and thanx for the clarification.....I was expexing a large holder to be adding and should have made that clear.

SANTANGELLO.

Not quite sure why you were/are expecting an RNS after "the six figure buy on Friday".

136k shares may seem a large buy, but it only registers as less than 0.25% of the total market cap (unless I have my decimal point in the wrong place!). So unless the holder already has 2.77% of the total shares, it's not reportable.

Great to see RNWH newly tipped by no less than Giles Hargreave:

"My best AIM stock

Renew Holdings (RNWH) provides engineering support services for UK power stations, water and gas pipelines and rail and telecommunication networks. It is the largest mechanical and electrical contractor on the Sellafield nuclear site in Cumbria. We bought the stock in 2009 and since then it has gone up more than 10 times. Operating in a niche market, with quality management and a market cap of only around £200 million, we think Renew may have a lot further to go."

The benefits of Soil Stabilisation

Possessing an in-house capability to provide clients with the most advanced techniques, VHE have undertaken soil stabilisation for a large number of projects in a range of applications throughout the UK.

These include moisture modification of wet materials, enhancing and improving material strength and performance but also encapsulating contamination by reducing its leachability.

A modern and efficient way of recycling, the process of soil stabilisation has many benefits.

The VHE team are today using their 30 years of contaminated land remediation, earthworks and infrastructure experience to explain exactly what some of these advantages are:

Financial
As an onsite treatment, soil stabilisation is generally more cost-effective than other traditional methods. This is because it doesn’t incur the charge of landfill taxes, vehicle movement and the buying of replacement aggregates.

Environmental
The process of rendering material suitable for reuse onsite, weather initially geotechnically or chemically unsuitable, in itself avoids the need for offsite transport and the environmental impact of the transport to landfill. When encapsulation / chemical stabilisation is undertaken then the impact of the contamination on the environment is reduced.

Time
Both geotechnically and chemically the process of stabilisation is undertaken in ‘real time’ and hence avoids long treatment periods, maximising programme benefits.

Sustainability
The enhancement or improvement of otherwise unsuitable materials is a corner stone of the principles of sustainability.

With the above benefits in mind, why not get in touch with VHE to discuss your soil stabilisation requirements?

Given our vast expertise as a company, we’re able to successfully deal with almost any condition encountered on a site. Furthermore, all of our knowledgeable staff are committed to finding both the best and most cost-effective solution possible for their clients, as well as being keen to work in an efficient, open and collaborative manner.

I would have thought that the recent share sale by the CEO which got everyone massively agitated and was part of the recent plunge to sub £2.50 was informative. The share price is now above his sell price. He didn't sell because he thought the price wouldn't go up but because as part of his financial planning he wanted to sell. Of course we would all like to see buying only by directors but that isn't how life is. Director buying in some cases hasn't been a great indicator of future share price performance - look at TUNG for example. I have a feeling that things are going well and that H2 here will be very good.

The thing with sales is that we do not know if there is a large cash need - new house, daughter's lavish wedding, divorce settlement etc. I think the market gets more worried if either it is repeated or if it is across a number of directors.

I get that directors need to sell but I personally and selfishly hate seeing it!

When we see directors buying we assume the price will go up and of course when they sell we should expect the market not to like it.

The guy's nearly 60 and has lots of remaining shares and options/incentives. It's obviously preferable to see buying, but that can be misleading too. This is only 20% of his holding and there are often very few windows for dealing for PLC directors. So good luck to him given the job he's done to date.

Of course they can but it hardly shows confidence in immediate gains. Or is it forbidden to remark of a negative influence?

I`m happy if this risers 20%, every year for the next 10 years.

I`m not greedy, infact id take that with all of my shares.

This is a real long term hold with me.
