01/2/2016 13:33 | That acquisition of a "company" with a turnover of 180k and directors drawings of 82k sounds like 2 blokes and a van! | wad collector
01/2/2016 12:29 | Many thanks for both of the above positive posts gents. Definite uptrend forming. | santangello
01/2/2016 12:08 | Covered in this month's WHI SPY: | aishah
01/2/2016 11:59 | Once Clarke Telecom and Forefront start delivering, as RNWH have hinted at, they'll be like two new acquisitions this year. Talking of which....interesting acquisition today. Very small, and I suspect RNWH would normally not even have bothered to announce it as there's no requirement to, except that as per the RNS it puts them in in a stronger position re that £500m decommissioning framework at Sellafield etc. Which is indeed worth telling the market about: WH Ireland recently reiterated their Buy and 440p target: | rivaldo
28/1/2016 19:02 | tks for your response harrogate. appreciate it. | melody9999
28/1/2016 18:50 | No need to over anal ise. Let Brian May do the business. I can see apossible bid at £ 6.00 | hvs
28/1/2016 14:24 | Yes that is right - with those two at £60m sales making nothing the other areas did well on margin. | harrogate
28/1/2016 14:18 | Thank you Harrogate. I had been wondering why the profit margin being achieved in Engineering Services had not been closing in on the 5% target (having "stalled" at 4.6% over the past year). I would guess that in fact there has been progress across most of Engineering but that Clarke & Forefront have negated that progress. It will be interesting to see how the figures progress this year. Historically the Engineering side of the business has generated revenue per half year of around 60% of the order book at the start of the period (excluding H2 2014 which was boosted to 70% because of the exceptional flooding work plus some one off railway work). Obviously this is not a fixed ratio, it is just what has been achieved over the past couple of years. The Engineering order book at the start of this half year was £400m & so we could be looking at Engineering turnover close to £250m (as compared with £210m for H1 last year). We will see soon enough! As noted in the AGM statement the order book is now £413m. | jjhbev
28/1/2016 13:43 | Thanx Harrogate.... | santangello
28/1/2016 13:41 | XD today I believe so this is an all time high. Clarke and Forefront had poor years in 2015 and I don't think made any profit. Clarke started this year well but FF not planned to recover until H2 - they felt that both markets were very strong long term and both companies had great positions in them so while not happy it will be fine | harrogate
28/1/2016 13:25 | Fair comment wad......just been holding since 75p l, so class all income as fat lol.Incidentally, xd today or tomoz ??Looks a fair day today... | santangello
27/1/2016 20:24 | Harrogate - would be grateful for your advice on status re Clarke and Forefront. Considering taking an initial positipon as I have funds available. | melody9999
27/1/2016 17:28 | Have messaged you Harrogate | glaws2
27/1/2016 17:05 | Glaws - you got an email address ? | harrogate
27/1/2016 16:21 | Fat dividend @ 4.75p? A little over 1% of the share price is not fat in my book ; you must be anorexic! | wad collector
27/1/2016 15:20 | Stellar announcement from this gem of a company, once again. Holders can look forward with confidence to a continuing future of increasing profit deliverance, and with future Broker upgrades and target price increases. I, like all holders, look forward to the Trading Update and Interim's. Fat dividend due not too soon too, xd this week. | santangello
27/1/2016 08:52 | Harrogate - cheeky I know, but the other key question is over the discontinued operations. At the 2015 AGM I specifically asked Brian whether he expected further impairments to those already announced and he said, at this point in time, no. In the end another £7.2m drained away in the year ending Sep 2015. It would be nice to know whether this is the end of it. I'd be extremely grateful for any AGM feedback. | glaws2
27/1/2016 08:16 | Glaws - yes I am going and my key question is on Clarke and Forefront which we paid £32m for and expected over £4m operating profit combined and reading between the lines they made nothing last year. A move back to what was expected from them would be a big lift this year and I agree we could do with seeing that. | harrogate
27/1/2016 08:01 | What more can anyone ask for ??? The Group order book at 31 December 2015 has increased by 15% to GBP515m (31 Dec 2014: GBP449m). The Engineering Services order book stood at GBP413m (31 Dec 2014: GBP369m), an increase of 12% over the comparative position last year. Cash generation in the first quarter has been good. The Board continues to expect the Group to report a net cash position by the end of the financial year. Brian May you are a STAR and £ 4.50p at the very least here we come. | hvs
27/1/2016 07:48 | Very nice bullish tone to the statement and nice increase in the order book. Only (minor) let down for me is no comment on improvements in Forefront and Clarkes Telecom. I couldn't make the AGM this year - Harrogate are you going ? | glaws2
27/1/2016 07:27 | Wow - a terrific AGM statement today: - trading nicely in line, but also... - big increases in the order books - good cash generation leading to expected net cash (and likely more acquisitions) this year - first major framework appointment for Lewis Civil Engineering - major (potentially up to £1.5 billion) appointment for Shepley at Sellafield All looking extremely good, as echoed in the final paragraph of the RNS. | rivaldo
22/1/2016 13:35 | added a few myself just now | treeshake
22/1/2016 13:31 | and anticipate further double digit upside potential as well as opportunities arising from a good year in prospect Brian May is a STAR and will deliver yet again. Happy days ahead. | hvs |
