A little surprised that RGU has not bounced back over 300p given it's overseas earnings. Next results will be interesting,

RGU Regus

Very Strong results today........

2016 outlook
We remain confident in our business model and the long-term structural drivers of our industry. We will continue to invest to increase our levels of customer service, make our business relevant to a wider market, drive greater operational efficiency and deliver long-term shareholder value. We will continue to adhere to our strict financial criteria in executing our growth plans and remain suitably vigilant given the current global macroeconomic uncertainty, with flexibility in both our expansion plans and our cost base. Current trading is in line with management's expectations and we remain confident in our prospects for 2016.

H1 - Traders over reaction to the negative line about increased costs due to rising business center rollout rate - not put very well by the co I feel - bit too stark - the underlying business is generating cash and growing - growth is slowed by ccy

Ironically RGU are doing the correct thing by expanding - investors dont want them to stand still or shrink so not sure what else RGU are supposed to do?

Maybe someone is cottoning on that it is a giant Ponzi scheme, taking on the most enormous rental obligations and re-letting on wafer-thin margins (Operating profit margin last year 6% down from 7.3% the year before) which are vulnerable to any weakness in either Occupancy Rates or REVPAW or both. I suspect current weakness is due to Balance Sheet considerations, with the recent IMS showing that net debt is increasing substantially. The assets on which these debts are secured are not exactly rock-solid either. "Property" may sound substantial, but look behind that and you'll see that the leases (RGU doesn't 'do' freeholds) are of nominal value with the lion's share arising from "Furniture, Fittings and Motor Vehicles". As they discovered in the last recession, F&F are a write-off in the event of a centre closure, so that's a big, fat zero then. Tenants deposits and landlords contributions are also a big feature in the cash position. Smoke & mirrors IMHO. (But then I've been wrong since 2001, so it's working!)

RGU looking challenged...maybe later! Big news coming on FML? Ex CEO predicts 8 fold (yes 8 fold!) increase in market cap by end of 2014. Sp has been battered...news due soon.

Be quick!
