We agree on decline, and it's happening all over the place, particularly in the West which has further to fall, but it's all cyclical if you go back into history, no matter how how sophisticated we kid ourselves that we've become.

A new financial system will arise from something more major than an economic collapse. It'll be an external war or a major epidemic what does it, not a financial collapse on its own, which to me just means a collapse of confidence.

Nobody really wants to rock the boat, knowing what the consequences will be, which is why I think the present economic practices will just limp along. Enough of that though as, some say, my comments are far too general, but that's how I see things at my age.

Starmer went cap in hand to the Blackrock Jews first. That's where the data centre mass surveillance A.I grid was confirmed. Larry Fink and the entire board came over from Jew York city for one to one's with Starmer's cabinet and the cabinet office permanent government that are tasked with furthering the agenda whichever government is in power.

PB35 - Your opinion ; I dont profess to have much knowledge of economic theory, but why should I believe what you say when you've been forecasting total disaster for goodness knows how long, and it never happens on the scale you imagine..

As for military spending, you're living in a dream world populated by non-human humans. Sorry, but recorded history doesn't lie

Sorry corrientes, but your lack of economic theories and not understanding the damage military spending can do is up to you. But in the coming months it,s going to hit you in th face. There ar e rules to economics just as there are to physics.

hxxps://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/24893945.ordnance-survey-job-cuts-southampton-workers-put-risk/

Nearly 100 jobs to go at Ordnance Survey. This is concerning.

It looks like the coffers are running dry, hence the chancellors push to growth lately.

hxxps://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/24894938.southampton-government-church-cuts-come-worst-time/
"Churches in listed buildings in Southampton worry that government cuts are coming at ‘the worst time’ as an annual grant has been slashed by £19 million."

I suspect the NHS has got to the most obvious next target, being the UK's biggest employer. Over 1000 pharmacies have shut now, but it's not enough.

Rachel better don the high vis jacket again or do a photo shoot at McDonalds. It worked for Trump. Going to work is "normal" - you don't want to be sat at home watching Tik Tok!

This government are gas lighting the mentally ill(1), the young, and those out of work(2).

We've gone cap in hand to Beijing(3) to beg for investment. We're going to have a mini Silicon Valley(4) in the UK.

Now we just got to build - build anything! Forget the newts and bats(5) OK. Bulldoze it all! We're out of ideas.

Well, except for road works. Anyone long on temporary cateyes and traffic cones? Someone's making a fortune. Miles and miles of road works with no workers in sight. Except for traffic cones.

Sorry PB, you opine as a neutral, fortunate enough to be able to speak, like the Yank, in moralistic terms, like so many others, from the comfort of living in the West,Yes, the military complex can be corrupt, but that pales into insignificance when compared with the waste and corruption that takes place in other parts of society, everywhere.

Human civilisation is what it always has been, and still is, but on a grander scale these days, a fight to stay top dog and take the accompanying spoils that go with it.

I don't like waste any more than you do, but the tribal instinct of 'dislike for the unlike' will remain for the forseeable future, leading to wars and hate and corruption go hand in hand with this.

PS. This and the other thread exibit these traits in abundance, but thankfully you can spot the rubbish quite easily.

Are you saying that the military industrial complexes, in most western countries which take and waste over 50 % the publics money are doing a service to the public, by creating unedeed wars then i find i must disagree with you.The end being a world war. It is a situation warned against by Eisenhower in 1961.

If you are then i find i must disagree with you?

PB35 - nice to see you back. As for Eisenhower, despite what he said, we in the West have very good reasons to be grateful for that particular power complex over the last 75 years and before then.

The human conditions has never been and never will be perfect; there are always going to be winners and losers, so so your particular chemical brew of financial sobriety all depends on timing and the prevailing economic and social conditions, potentially a lethal combination. Were your wishes to come true, I dare say opposing arguments would then take hold, but peace has held for a long time now and prosperity generally has improved, so the present economic system can't have been all that bad.

Now you're getting it pete..

.. You have to get to 'Simple'..
The problem is ... That it's very difficult to get to 'Simple'.. to make
something as 'Simple' as it can be .. (Like a Mathematical Formulae E=MC2
for example ...
There's a lot in it .. yet it is very 'Simple'.. but can also be expanded to explain a Lot.)

.. The reason this is important .. is because once that 'Simplicity'
.. has been attained... You can then place that 'Formula'
.. or the 'Premise'.. of your 'Philosophy'.. Into any 'Context' or 'Realm'..
.. - 'Physics' - 'Chemistry' / 'Biology' .. etc..

and it will still 'work'...

It will Hold 'True'..

That is the 'Art'.. the world has lost..

Pnuemonia and a touch of Sepsis. Now out of hospital and taking the tablets, lol.I,ll be back ,lol. In philosophy it,s called going to first principles, which means brfeaking the subject down to it,s smallest points and then making a judgement. It,s what Musk does and philosphers do. As Churcill said whether you like him or not. Americans usuaslly get it right after exahausting every other option. We have a similar sitution now, although Trump is not perfect he,s a thousand times better than the previous.

PB gives/gave me the impression that he really believes/believed in his financial view of things. He doesn't/didn't get involved with the trolls inhabiting this and other threads, I hope he's just on holiday and will return to active duty.

Here is a typical situation of technology creating an increasing soulless society.gawd help us.All the benefits are lauded, never the equally important downsides, but then I am old so haven't a clue.

Many posters have had a go at Peter over the years.

Are you surprised by that?

I’ve always felt that he wasn’t a million miles from the truth.

It's a point of view!
