The overheads of the UK are because of the size of the public sector.And it,s this that is taking this country to default, and bankruptsy. Add to this and Houston we have a problem. The obvious solution is to chop the public sector, but big state is reluctant to chop it,s own so this countyr will stagger on until it can,t and defaults on its debts.

TPS provides temporary legal status and work authorization for foreign nationals who cannot return to their country of origin, and has historically been implemented in cases of natural disasters, armed conflict, and other extraordinary circumstances. TPS for Venezuela expires September 2022.

“Given the Maduro regime’s ongoing campaign of state-sanctioned violence against the people of Venezuela and the humanitarian crisis present in the country, we request that you redesignate Venezuela for TPS for an additional 18 months,” the senators wrote. “Failure to do so would result in a very real death sentence for countless Venezuelans who have fled their country.”

Rubio and Menendez are the authors of the Venezuela Temporary Protected Status Act of 2021, a bill to grant TPS for eligible Venezuelans currently in the U.S. who fled the Maduro regime’s man-made crisis.

Rubio is a senior member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and Ranking Member of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues.

Menendez is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

PB - For my sins I lived near Basra in the Province of Khuzestan for a while before moving on to Tehran.
