07/7/2016 15:25 | FTJ, I was working in Malaysia when Petronas started to get serious will the Oil companies that were operating and thriving offshore in Malaysian waters. To be frank the likes of Shell 'SSB' And Esso 'EMB' operating in Malaysia were ripping Petronas off. The Malaysian government realised this and pushed Petronas to get more qualified personnel and employ more graduates to modernise the company. I actually worked with one Petronas Uni graduate when I worked for SSB. A clever guy and nice person. Why Petronas have grown to the size they are today is partly to do with the Malaysian Governments input in the 80's and 90's. Petronas now have very fair production sharing agreements with the likes of Sarawak Shell Berhad, Esso Malaysia Berhad and Malaysian subsidiaries of other Major oil companies in Malaysia. Petronas are very a very shrewd lot business wise, world wide. What goes around comes around, ATB, GD | ![]() greatfull dead
07/7/2016 12:25 | Petronas seem a bit on the stingy side when it comes to deal making and strike me as very risk averse and operating on a low budget. See last year's deal with lansdowne on the midleton drill for example. | ![]() funtimejonny
07/7/2016 08:48 | "Assessed separate fast-track development options of the highly productive C-Sand gas bearing reservoir". If this is close enough to tie in to the existing infrastructure at Kinsale then it must surely be possible to strike a deal with Petronas and it might provide some income relatively soon. The Midleton drill didn't take long. | ![]() rogerlin

06/7/2016 12:14 | Would PVR/Schlumberger be thinking of rig sharing with Woodside and Europa for a multiwell Summer 2017 Porcupine Basin campaign? Drills at Drombeg and Druid could prove very cost effective under such an arrangement. | ![]() hermana3
