Buy Prime Focus; target of Rs 63: BP Equities

BP Equities is bullish on Prime Focus and has recommended buy rating on the stock with a target of Rs 63 in its August 13, 2012 research report.

"Prime Focus Ltd (PFL) is a global visual entertainment services company providing end-to-end services ranging from visual effects (VFX), 3D conversion and complete post-production services to a world wide clientele and has worked in 10 of the world's top 30 blockbusters movies in the past three years. Over the years, it has successfully acquired companies in the UK and North America, turned them around and consolidated its position in the global market. It has operations in North America, UK and India and has built a 'state-of-the-art' facility at Royal Palms, Mumbai, and Chandigarh with 3,000+ seats to convert existing 2D films to stereoscopic 3D format. It has 15 global facilities with total employee base of 4,500."

"PFL's VFX business is witnessing strong growth and they are focused on continuously increasing their share in $5bn market by making investments in Vancouver and London. In FY12, the VFX business contributed Rs. 1,493mn to the top line, which is an 80% increase over the previous year and is expected to grow at ~33% in the coming years. PFL is the market leader in the 3D conversion business with a market share of nearly 50% and few international competitors, thus enjoying a benefit of off-shoring resulting in higher margins of nearly 40% at EBIDTA level and is targeting a 30% growth in FY13E and FY14E. Considering the strong potential of these business vertical, we expects it to be a major growth driver for the company going forward."

"PFL offers a cloud based technology platform CLEAR through its subsidiary prime focus technologies (PFT) to the media and entertainment industry. It helps manage content, workflows, supply chain logistics, interactions, and production and operations management tool for clients like Associated Press, British Films Institute, Sony Music, Netflix, Viacom, and National Geographic Channel. CLEAR is the world's first hybrid Cloud technology platform managing over 150,000 hours of content for Broadcasters, Studios & brands worldwide. It has registered robust growth of 205.3% y-o-y in FY12 (contributed 4.4% to revenues) and stood at Rs 336 mn. We expect the platform to grow at ~100% in FY13 to Rs 700 mn on account of its strong order book of US$ 12 mn executable in the next 12-18 months."

"We expect revenues and profitability to grow at a strong CAGR of 29.7%/33.9% to Rs 13.0 bn and Rs 1.8 bn over FY12-14E driven by strong order book in the 2D-to-3D conversion space, traction in CLEAR platform and expansion in margins. We expect the company to witness robust traction and value unlocking in the US and UK business which contributes ~85% to total revenues. The company operates at a healthy EBITDA margins of ~30% which we expect to expand going forward with the increase in revenues from non linear streams like 3D-VFX and CLEAR platform which fetch higher margins. The company trades at a P/E of 5.9x times its FY13E earnings which is believe is at a steep discount to its peers, considering its higher return ratios (RoE of 29.3%), robust revenue and PAT CAGR for FY12-14E, expanding margins and immense growth potential in 2D-3D conversion market space and strong global presence. We initiate the company with a "BUY" rating and assign a P/E of 8x (industry average) FY13E earnings to arrive at a target price of Rs 63 (upside of 35.2% from current levels)," says BP Equities research report.

Digital Domain and Prime Focus settle lawsuit over 3-D patents

By Richard Verrier

July 18, 2012, 1:41 p.m.

"Ultimately, this was a lawsuit between two companies that enjoy working together, so we're happy to put it behind us and resume our prior relationship with Prime Focus," said John Textor, Digital Domain's chairman and chief executive. "We understand that Prime Focus has its own significant 3-D technology and we are pleased to report, as this license suggests, that they respect ours as we respect theirs."

I research stocks that are off around 95%

Some will do nothing, some will go bust, others will be the decades stars making investors very rich.

Look at the ASOS thread just 7 years ago at 5p posters just like you were running the company down, day in day out.!!

Now look.!!!

Stop looking at accounts, and look out and up.

Good luck.

Last time before i filter you unless you give me a proper answer, you really
waste mine and other people's time with your nonesense.

Why did you ignore the companies own words that i copied here stating that profits
were unlikely to be repeated when you were ramping PFO none stop on another thread
which they confirmed again in a trading update ?

Do you also think you are misleading others when blatantly ignoring repeated questions about fundamentals on stocks you are pushing, would you be the first
to admit you simply do not understand them hence you ignore questions and then
divert the issue by naming old stocks that have risen certain % gains in the past ?

Anybody that backs Topinfo has a lot to answer for :-))

Anyway Tara lets see your answers ?

So how come if one of my stocks goes up say 200%, or 600% do the directors not sell all their shares and for that matter all the other shareholders.?

Fact is you hate winners, you think others can not think for themselves.

You slate Topinfo yet he is brave and buys what you will not.!!

How can one suck people in when we are talking about billions of shares and hundreds of thousand of shareholders??

We also have the likes of you posting on my threads day and night trying you best to run these companies into the ground.!!

You are good at ignoring facts like a politician, PFO repeatedly said those
profits would not be repeated but you refused to accept it, you are just a trader
not a investor, you post rambling nonesense about stocks to 50-100 bag so you can
make a quick 20%, i see you vanished quickly from Thal !

Prime Focus shares down as subsidiary warns of profit cut

Avanne Dubash, ET Now Jul 3, 2012, 03.47PM IST

MUMBAI: Shares of Prime Focus were down on profit-booking after Prime Focus London Plc, in which the company owns a 65 per cent stake, raised concerns about its FY12 earnings.

According to reports, Prime Focus London Plc warned that FY12 profits are likely to be lower than estimates, and will see a sharp deceleration from last year. Although this is traditionally a sluggish phase for the company, it warns of margin pressures on account of a dip in production budgets.

Commercial and broadcast are the two divisions of the UK subsidiary that will see lower activity in the next quarter on account of a ripple effect of an economic slowdown and a dip in advertising linked to the upcoming Olympics 2012 in London.

The management of Prime Focus India does not seem deterred and said given that only 13 percent of its overall revenue comes from London, these warnings are in line with the statutory regulations of the country.

Prime Focus is one of the leading players in the visual entertainment services segment that generates most of its revenue from the conversion of 2D content into 3D content. It has worked on films like Transformers, Ra.One, Star Wars-1, Clash of the Titans 2, etc.

JPMorgan Chase & Co and Deutsche Bank AG are advising Prime Focus on the planned sale of American depositary receipts, the sources with direct knowledge of the matter said.
The Mumbai-based company plans to use the money to fund expansion of its US operations, the sources said.
Prime Focus was not immediately available for comment. JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank declined to comment.
Demand for Prime Focus' low-cost post-production, visual effects and other services has grown over the last few years. Hollywood studios' use of the company and others like it is also inspiring Bollywood to experiment more with special effects and other technologies, further feeding demand.
Prime Focus supplied 3D visual effects and motion graphic design for "Avatar," according to its website.
Its portfolio of work also includes Hollywood films such as Paramount Pictures' "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra"; broadcast shows such as chef Gordon Ramsay's "Gordon Behind Bars"; music videos such as Madonna's "Girl Gone Wild" and Radiohead's "Lotus Flower"; and Bollywood movies including "No One Killed Jessica" and "Agent Vinod."
The company, little known outside its markets, began in 1997 in a garage in Mumbai with four team members. It first went public in 2006 on the Bombay and National stock exchanges in India, and subsequently bought companies in the United Kingdom and the United States. Its UK unit, Prime Focus London Plc, is listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
Prime Focus now employs about 4,500 people.
The depositary receipts are likely to list on Nasdaq, but a final decision has not yet been made, one of the sources
