The only downside seems to be whether 3D will really catch on....and I think the answer is that it will but only when things are shot in 3D and NOT using a conversion process.

Swam

3D is big in the far east where i am i have very little doubt that it will take off in a massive way. Avatar was amazing and luv the 3d music videos. 3D movie houses here are sell out and buliding a new Imax.

Television manufacturers are viewing 3D developments as the next big thing for the 3D TV industry, and expect it to boost sales and interest as much as color TVs did to black and white entertainment decades ago.

tara - I was about to post a "what on earth" type post but took a step back and read through the Finals and and Interim.

In particular I like the change in business model for Post Production, moving away from discounted pricing to investment into films and returns being earned from the sales of the films themselves.

I also like the net debt reduction from £4.3m to £2.7m.

And in answer to my question about whether they can expand to take on new work I found this....

The only downside seems to be whether 3D will really catch on....and I think the answer is that it will but only when things are shot in 3D and NOT using a conversion process.

And obviously I don't like the suspension for late reporting.

Those two things aside, all looks good for good numbers going forward.

PFO made part of this film.!!!!

'Transformers 3' has become the biggest movie released over the US Independence Day weekend after grossing $416 million at the worldwide box office.

'Transformers 3' has become the biggest July 4th film ever.

The movie - which is also known as 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' and stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Josh Duhamel - has grossed $416m at the worldwide box office making it the biggest motion picture released over the US Independence Day weekend, beating 'Spiderman 2'.

The film - which also features John Turturro and Tyrese Gibson - helped Paramount to become the only studio to have released five consecutive movies that have made more than $100 million domestically.

Rob Moore, vice chair at the American film and distribution company, said: "It shows that you've got to motivate and inspire the audience."

According to experts, at least 60 per cent of the tickets are thought to be from 3D sales.

The Michael Bay-directed movie was released in the US last month and features Rosie making her acting debut as Carly Spencer, while Shia reprised the role of Sam Witwicky.

Look at my NTA and IDG threads, where one could buy shed loads, up from 2p to £118P and 12p to 40p.

PFO is a pure gift at todays price, more so now than ever.

PE of under 2 reduces risk as does the growth, and cash.

Found this also: Much of the attraction to the movie can be attributed to the 3-D version which is estimated to have accounted for up to 60 percent of the box office takings.

Sources have also revealed that overseas box office receipts for the movie since its release on Tuesday stand at $217 million. Combined with the U.S. box office takings since Tuesday's release of $181.1 million, the worldwide takings so far are estimated at just under $400 million.

The news means that Transformers: Dark of the Moon has become the largest movie release of the year; easily eclipsing the previous highest Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which opened with $90.2 million in May.

Look at this RE 3D sales,

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap) - While the domestic box office is sputtering when it comes to 3D, the weekend performance of "Transformers 3" notwithstanding, uptake of the format is hot abroad, particularly in Europe.

According to data released by 3D technology services company RealD on Monday, about 70 percent of the international box office revenue for the Marvel/Paramount release of "Thor" came from 3D ticket sales.

In Europe, "Thor's" 3D revenue accounted for nearly 80 percent of total box office.

For Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," the breakdown is 67 percent of total foreign box office for 3D, with Europe at nearly 70 percent, according to RealD.

From the guys that know their game.!!!

But the real stars of the movie are the 3-D effects.

Scott Tobias of NPR says "Shot by shot, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, like all of Bay's work, has a meticulous commercial sheen that's distinctive and beautiful..." while A.O. Scott of the New York Times says that the film "is among Mr. Bay's best movies and by far the best 3-D sequel ever made about gigantic toys from outer space.

Note the last Para,

office forecast of $116.4 million is the best ever for an Independence Day weekend, which is one of the heaviest moviegoing periods of the year. It eclipsed the $115.8 million debut of "Spider-Man 2" over the same weekend in 2006.

On Monday, Paramount revised its Sunday estimates slightly to $97.5 million r the three-day weekend -- Friday through Sunday -- from a previous $97.4 million.

"Transformers" earned a whopping $24,300 per-theater average from around 4,000 theaters over the three days. By contrast, the No. 2 domestic movie, Disney/Pixar's animated "Cars 2" earned $26.2 million over the three days ($32.1 million for the four days ending Monday) from just under 4,100 theaters. Its per-theater average was about $6,400.

About 60 percent of "Transformers'" domestic revenues came from theaters showing it in more expensive 3D, and about 70 percent of the international box office tally came from 3D, which should help bolster the format that in recent months has seemed to fade in popularity.

The above is from Prime Focus India, however it is PFO London that would have made the big money,[as yet not reflected in the share price.]

35% of workload goes through London, and by price its higher, Turnover jumped last year.
