15/11/2017 11:26 | I agree. Next few hours is likely to see Mugabe being exiled to either South Africa , Namibia or Ghana. Then Emmerson Munangagwa will be declared President.Watch this space | jungmana

15/11/2017 10:15 | Forwood, Spot on fella, this new guy will be the best thing to happen to Zimbabwe for years. Be a much more attractive place for businesses now that Bobby and his Mrs cannot run it into the ground anymore. Regards, Ed. | edgein
15/11/2017 09:52 | forwood thanks for doing the research and posting that. GLA | tedoby2
15/11/2017 09:48 | Nice post forwood, I agree he seems like a good successor. I also feel this is the best possible outcome rather than Mugabe passing and a civil war breaking out with his Mrs becoming the successor. I see this as a strong positive after further research. | mike_f
15/11/2017 09:44 | Helpful to have a look at what sort of person Mnangagwa is. The Wikipedia profile paints the progression of the young revolutionary from an early career as a lawyer to a 75 year old veteran of the Mugabe administration. He has held several senior posts, including Minister of National Security (1980-88), Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs and Leader of the House (1988-2000), Speaker of Parliament, Minister of Defence (2009)then back to Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs (2013) before becoming Vice-President in late 2014. Although a strong proponent of the 1990s Indigenization & Black Economic Empowerment initiative, the article says he has 'a strong image in Zimbabwe as a cultivator of stability' and 'support from the Southern African Development Community', an inter-governmental organization whose goal is to further socio-economic cooperation and integration, as well as political and security cooperation among 16 southern African states. He is allegedly one of the country's richest men having profited from mine clearing operations in partnership with a white former officer from the old Rhodesian Army. I am slightly encouraged by that. | forwood

15/11/2017 08:33 | Donald, Exactly, noone before today would have predicted a smooth transfer of power in Zimbabwe but that's exactly what's happened. VP now in charge and not many will shed a tear that Bobby is on the dole. As the tweet from the ruling party suggested, Zimbabwe is open for bussiness/business as usual. Wouldn't be surprised if these are trading just under 0.4p later today as it sinks in that this is +ve. Regards, Ed. | edgein

15/11/2017 08:24 | Dodge....all miners probably got their concessions by dealing with the administration as it was - that was all they could do. That's all history - I'm sure the new regime will be more interested in getting money in than writing a lot of historic wrongs and miring the country in multiple legal battles | molatovkid
15/11/2017 08:22 | Meet the new boss same as the old boss. | dodge city
15/11/2017 08:19 | Mike, I bought the dip too, couldn't resist. This is actually very +ve news for Zimbabwe. The ex-VP now in as president and Mugabe gone without a fight, no power struggle as expected if bobby had keeled over. Peaceful, bloodless transition of power. Also its not like two sides battling it out its all within Zanu PF. So as the tweet suggests its business as usual as we await the PEA. Regards, Ed. | edgein |
