Power Metal shares continue to reverse slowly - maybe because confidence in a good Molopo Farms drilling result is increasingly in doubt. It is difficult now to forecast where the share price goes from here without a drilling report.

Video added to the foot of header. PJ was very reassuring as always. Maybe the share price fall is more of a real event on the market cap.

More risk-taking needed in the mining industry: BHP
January 19, 2023,
www.australianresourcesandinvestment.com.au/2023/01/19/more-risk-taking-needed-in-mining-industry-bhp/

“Over the medium to long term, the mining industry has to get better at innovating and taking a bit more risk in deploying innovative technologies,” Henry told the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland this week.

Henry explained the importance of “smaller and lower grade” deposits “that are harder to find” while highlighting that a declining production base would be a roadblock for the green transition if measures aren’t put in place to accelerate mineral exploration.

The market is saying the same thing all over the place but POW have also got a big seller in Thor.
Find me another junior with a mkt cap of 20m with so many projects, several of which will ipo in Q1.

The market is telling us what it thinks about prospects versus market capitalisation and cash reserves and needs in the not to distant future. It is a trifle disparaging - the importance factor is in the hands of POW.
The company has good prospects if it can get the cash raising position more certain as the push down in the gold price has made Aussie IPOs uncertain.
The Katoro and Kavango interests are very negative only partly offset by FCM.

That's not what was mentioned at all Noirua. You have put your negative spin on again. What about the intimation at 7mins that there is possibly a JV partner.

The Power Metal share price is still under pressure after PJ in the last RNS mentioned the company would learn from the results at Molopo Farms. Thus tending to indicate results were less than hoped for.

We expect the data and interpretations from this drill programme will add considerably to the existing understanding of what we believe is a particularly exciting opportunity at Molopo Farms. Further updates will follow in due course."

Despite the Power share price not doing well since very early 2021, the company has outclassed nearly all other explorers in the mining sector. So anyone buying around mid-2020 has done outstandingly well. Very many miles ahead of Red Rock, Katoro, and Kavango.

Are you saying that the RNS itself lacks any comments regarding observations on the drill core.

The Molopo Farms drilling is complete though it lacks the expected observations from the drill cores.

FCM has already ipo'd and is doing well. Golden Metal Resources and FDR to float in H1.
Other ipos could be coming down the line.

However I do agree that PJ needs to reel the raisings in and find a way to build the share price so that the warrants trigger for working capital.
Unfortunately the Thor overhang has been hurting the share price of late.
Tati or Molopo could be that trigger but I think another raising in 6mth time would see a lot of people turn away especially if there hasn't been the success in the exploration.

Fingers crossed.

grimreaper,Well said. Unless he can actually monetise anyone of these projects - this will continue to be lacklustre. There is an even bigger problem that seems to be having its effect on natural resource stocks - ESG and institutions either limiting exposure or avoiding certain sectors altogether. I think Paul Johnson is spinning shareholders on a happy dance, the share count is approaching 2 billion, the company is clearly undercapitalised with so many projects, the IPO model is not working as demand for new issues does not exist.

Johnson also seems out of kilter with new market dynamics when he continually talks about the next bull cycle, investors have worked out that these types of stocks are for trading only, short term traders have taken over, many will sell for a few % profit, the days of holding stocks are over, as a result re-rates are nigh impossible.

Retail investors portfolios have been decimated, as such there is not the required demand to drive share prices, liquidity has dried up, it may take years for confidence to return.

It is Johnsons job to talk up the sector and refer to past multi-baggers like GGP but that past is history, in the meantime he will continue to dilute away, the last placing with warrants attached is another example the leopard does not change it's spots.

Today's gold price slide puts Aussie IPO thoughts back on the wait-and-watch list. The question for the moment is whether Power Metal should keep buying new tenements or not.

Two more 'nearology' Uranium tenements were announced today see 4a) in the header. If PJ's 'nearology' philosophy comes off then bingo. However, the Fraser Range 'nearology' philosophy in WA failed to come off in fact barely at all. Another roll of the dice or more likely hoping PJ can do well with commodities taking off in value. Uranium is indeed over US$50 per lb though $55 was a target wanted in 2010 so a bit to go yet. Held back by the fact any new plant started today targets 2033 for completion. NBGC might just be the savior here so pray to St Barbara that gold heads for US$2,300.

Power closing in on 1.25p as the high market cap; no very good drilling results; KAV, and KAT not doing at all well; and FCM reversing in a continuing poor marketplace for explorers.
Drilling results are key here.

KAV, FCM, and KAT shares have retreated - FCM is still firmly in positive territory. These are investments that do not directly impact Power Metal unless the company ever becomes a forced seller in the future. It does show the microcap sector for explorers has not yet lifted from the doldrums - gold shares are in more positive territory though that applies to producers except explorers like K92 which are exemplary.

Tungsten does not occur naturally in its pure metallic state but is always found as an ore such as wolframite or scheelite.

Tungsten ore is not currently mined in the United States due to financial and environmental considerations although the U. S. has substantial deposits.

Other countries with significant tungsten resources include Russia, Bolivia, Canada, and China. Currently, most tungsten used in the U.S. is of Chinese origin.

Recycled tungsten is of considerable importance as well. Because no tungsten is being currently mined in the U. S. and because it is vital to our national defense, tungsten is considered a strategic material and is stockpiled by the government.

-----

I haven't had time to thoroughly check out Tungsten worldwide though there must be a concern that Pilot Mountain will not be given a mining license.

The Pilot Mountain prospect has great potential as the company's CEO explains. Without the certainty of obtaining a mining license how could it IPO successfully?
