Posted at 19/7/2009 22:04 by hugepants That could be it callum. PYF may end in a similar way to Voller ie. return cash (after winding up business) and sell off the technology. Id say that Voller's technology was pretty obviously worthless though whereas you'd expect PYF's to have decent value especially given the recent grants awarded. |
Posted at 18/7/2009 22:37 by hugepants What the hell is going on."During 2008 and into 2009 the Company implemented a number of cost saving measures. Its monthly cash burn rate is currently expected to average approximately US$425,000-$450,000 in 2009, down from an average of approximately US$600,000 in 2008. " PYF had net cash of approx $6M cash at end 2008. If they are now burning $450,000 per month they should have enough cash to last into 2010. And that doesnt take into account the recent grants they have announced. Something ain't right. |
Posted at 28/5/2009 15:52 by supernumerary On the subject of updating headers, I see that the 'Investor Relations' page of the pyf website contains the following useful message:'Based on input from its customers, many of whom are world-leading consumer electronics companies, PolyFuel expects that test market and early commercial and niche market product launches of products incorporating PolyFuel's breakthrough membrane will occur in 2006 and 2007. Full commercial launches are expected in 2007 and 2008.' Could there be anything more designed to put investors off? Time I think for a thorough site refresh! |
Posted at 28/5/2009 15:02 by r0ss Amazing to think that all it takes is £1500 quids worth of buying to send it up 20%. Perhaps the time to steam in is indeed when (one hopes) funding can be secured. From the recent results,it seems like PYF have done all the donkey work in outperforming Li ion batteries. |

Posted at 28/5/2009 07:54 by morgs This has to raise the price, I mean they have/are receiving funding in excess of twice market cap!RNS Number : 9054S PolyFuel Inc. 28 May 2009 ? 28 May 2009 PolyFuel, Inc. Further $2.5m development funding from US Department of Energy PolyFuel, Inc (AIM: PYF), a world leader in fuel cell technology and engineered fuel cell membranes for the portable electronics industry, is pleased to announce that the US Department of Energy has awarded the Company a further $2.5m in funding for its portable fuel cell development programme. The new award follows on from two previous DOE program awards, the most recent, also for a sum of $2.5 million, which was announced last month. It provides continued funding for the new program, outlined in PolyFuel's announcement of 17 April, to advance portable fuel cell technology to meet the goals for performance, durability, and cost that the DOE has established for wide-scale commercial adoption of DMFC technology for use in laptops and other portable electronics devices. This further grant was won against strong competition, and its award was subject to a rigorous peer-review process by leaders in the industry, underlining the fact that PolyFuel continues to be recognized as a leader in the portable fuel cell field. In addition to this grant, PolyFuel is continuing to actively seek additional capital to complete its technology and product development, build out its manufacturing capability, and achieve commercial introduction of its products. PolyFuel president and CEO Jim Balcom said: "We are delighted with the DOE's continued backing of portable fuel cell technology in general and PolyFuel's technology in particular. This grant is a further affirmation of the importance that the DOE places on the development and commercialization of fuel cell technology and underlines PolyFuel's capability and leadership in its field." |
Posted at 17/4/2009 20:16 by don muang from RGY thread... asparks - 17 Apr'09 - 12:00 - 89 of 90 PYF fuel cells up 40% on news of funding from USA Govt asparks .... nice to know that you're showing a positive interest in PYF now .... does this mean you're a holder now? |
Posted at 20/2/2009 14:15 by asparks CFU fuel cells up 100% in 2 days. Much better prospect than PYF IMO |
Posted at 30/12/2008 11:44 by jonwig H P - if you're right, that should be some support for the PYF share price, which has traded below NAV for some time. The current MCap of PYF is £0.93m. At 30/06 they had net assets (tangible) of $10.1m (current $6.1m). The trouble is that their expenditure is about $7m pa. Unfortunately, I think the demise of Li-ion batteries in favour of DMFCs has been postponed indefinitely by the economic climate. |
